"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BLAKE!"
A chorus of voices echoed inside their beach house as Damon opened the door for them. She looked down at Blake, who was surprised, his eyes wide as he took in the balloons and confetti inside the house.
"Wow!" Blake exclaimed. "I have a birthday party!" Her son jumped up and down with joy.
"And some of your classmates will be arriving soon, buddy," Dwaye said, squatting in front of Blake. "Happy 5th birthday!" He gave his son a warm smile before handing him a blue paper bag.
Blake accepted the bag. "Thank you, Tito Ninong. What’s this?" The child peeked inside.
"Surprise."
They fist-bumped, and Zyron squatted in front of her son, holding a dark blue paper bag, while her brother stood up and turned his attention to her.
