The garden before the storm
The messenger bird cut across the trees above them. Damian lifted his head, watching as it glided until it dropped low toward the palace grounds. A small cylinder was tied to its leg.
Liam frowned. “Another message bird to your father?”
“Maybe,” Damian moaned. But his wolf was tense and nervous. Something about the bird’s path feels off.
Both of them followed its flight until it landed on the far balcony. Damian was shocked when he saw Jacob Willows step into view. The Alpha of Moonvale glanced around, quick and cautious, before taking the message from the bird’s leg.
“Why was the message for Jacob?” Liam whispered.
“Be quiet Liam,” Damian hissed. They quickly slipped behind the tree line, and stayed hidden peeping from afar.
