Chapter 6: Alpha vs Rogue

1014 Words
With his beta and team of volunteers in tow Ryan went to the rouge camp near the waterfalls not far from Alpha Leonard's territory. Feeling mostly frustration towards Nicholas and anger towards the rogue he sped as if traffic laws did not exist. He was pulled over by police twice and released both times due to his alpha status. He thanked the moon goddess that most of the law enforcement in the area were wolves and knew who he was. The camp consisted mostly of makeshift tents and fire pits. Rogues lived like gypsies, always on the move once they were no longer welcome. Rogues were never truly welcome but they liked to impose on weaker pack's territory. They had no sense of loyalty to anyone or anything, just themselves. Unlike packs they had only the one rule: Don't get caught. They stayed away from humans because unlike packs who blended in with the humans the rogues stood out. They never could completely pass as regular people. Most had a mean streak, a temper and aura that gave their supernatural presence away. They were some of society's worst criminals, presented as crazy or demented by the mass media when in reality they were just acting on instinct and impulse. They were usually selfish creatures with little to no empathy for others. A tracker named Reese mind-linked to Ryan that he had seen a rouge fitting the description at the camp the previous day walking around one of the bigger tents. Ryan told the volunteers what to do and where to go via mind-link. Outsiders were blocked from their link so the rogues were not expecting them. Ryan crossed the threshold and within seconds found himself face-to-face with a large rouge with long black hair and brown eyes. "What do you want?" The rouge asked, angry. Ryan stayed clam, keeping Nero inside, and said, "I'm here to see Aces and Runt." The rogue laughed. "What could I possibly want from you?" Ryan realized the rouge was one of the two and shook a bag of money in front of him. He saw the rogue's eyes bulge. He had his attention. "All I'm looking for is a name and this is all yours." The rogue grunted. He wanted the money but he didn't want to play Ryan's game. "A rouge with bleached hair and sapphire eyes. What is his name?" The rouge rolled his eyes, annoyed, and said, "What did that stupid bastard do this time?" Ryan did not answer. He just shook the bag of coins at him again. He grunted and said, "You're describing Lochlan. You'll find him over there," he said pointing at a red tent. Ryan paid the man and told him to disappear for a few hours. The rouge took off with a look of amusement on his face. Ryan walked straight up to the red tent. It was empty, not a rogue in sight. He turned around just in time to dodge a large black wolf. Ryan shifted and the two squared off. Beta Tim and others jumped in as they saw the number of rogues increase. They were coming out of tents and from behind trees, doubling their numbers in seconds. Despite their numbers the rogues did not hold up against Ryan and his warriors. Most went running, fleeing. Ryan still had not identified the rouge known as Lochlan and was becoming frustrated until he noticed a familiar scent. It was faint, but he recognized his mate's scent wafting in the wind. He turned in the direction of the scent and saw a blonde wolf with bright blue eyes. Tied to his back leg was a pair of pink shorts and lace panties. He growled, realizing the beast was carrying around his mate's stolen clothes. Trophies. Ryan let out a loud howl and rushed towards the blonde wolf. Lochlan dodged the red wolf and took a fighting stance. The two growled at one another, angry. Lochlan had been annoyed he had been interrupted during his fun with a she-wolf but began to howl with amusement when he realized he recognized Ryan. Lochlan shifted and stood there naked, the clothes still tied to his leg. "Look what we have here, a young alpha. Where's your lovely mate?" He taunted. Ryan shifted when he realized Lachlan was not shifting back. He wouldn't attack him as his wolf, adhering to combat law. Ryan pulled on his shorts and yelled, "Are we doing this hand-to-hand or are you just gonna stand there talking?" The rouge roared with laughter, "Boy, it won't matter if we fight now or ten years from now I will always be the winner. I already got my prize." Ryan clenched his fists and yelled, "I doubt you can beat me, man or wolf!" Lachlan didn't break from his decision to taunt. "Hey Alpha, have you tasted her yet? She is a sweet little thing." Ryan felt his blood pressure rise, his face twist with anger. "She was so tight and perfect," Lachlan said, grinning. Ryan screamed at the top of his lungs and lunged forward. He put all of his weight into it and took Lachlan down to the ground. They rolled around on the grass, punching and kicking. Ryan grabbed Lachlan's bare leg and twisted it until he could hear the bones breaking. Lachlan screamed out in pain. Beta Tim came up to help hold the rogue down while Ryan snapped Lachlan's neck. The cracking noise boomed through the camp. Any rogues left fighting the volunteers ran off, scared. Ryan rolled on his back on the grass, panting heavily. He couldn't believe he just killed the man responsible for Nina's misery and trauma. He thought he would feel fulfilled but for some reason he didn't. His beta offered to burn the body but Ryan said no. "Wrap him up." Beta Tim did as he was told and found a blanket in one of the tents. Before wrapping the body Ryan untied the clothes from the rogue's leg. He burned the clothes, destroying the trophies Lachlan had been flaunting.
