Kaiser "Oh my God, Kaiser" "I didn't know it was you" she said, ushering me into her house. "You look..." She paused, taking all of me in. "Different?" I asked "Yes, in a really good way" she completed and I smiled at her. "I was at your book signing event today" I told her "Why didn't you tell me?" She said hitting my arm. "I don't know...honestly" I said And there was silence for a while. "I missed you, pretty Rhyssa" I said and she looked down at her feet. ♥︎♡♥︎ "So how've you been?" I asked as we sat at the dining table. "Well, good" She said. "I didn't know you were a writer" I said and she laughed. Melody. "I am, since I was fourteen" "But it all started with really stupid novels...I mean I was a kid" she said and we both laughed. "I was working on a book that night you climbed through my window" She said and I laughed. "You still remember that" "Why not?" She asked. "We'll I can assure you I don't climb through people's windows anymore" I said and we laughed again. "Was that why you left your old apartment?" I asked "You stalked me?" She asked, amused. "No no no, I did not" I said defending myself "Well, that wasn't the reason I moved out" She said and I was relieved. "How about you?" She asked and I sighed deeply. "When I left your house the next day after that incident, it was hell for me" I said as we stared at each other. "I'm sorry" She apologised and I waved it off. "There's no need to apologise" "I'm doing very well now" I said, smiling and she smiled back. I hated that I had to leave soon It was getting late. When I was about to leave, we stood up and for sometime, we were silent. Just staring at eachother. Then my eyes stopped at her lips. Goddammit. I would've tipped her head up so I could kiss her but I didn't, even though I badly wanted to. "I missed you too, Kaiser" "I'm so so sorry I forgot who you were....you just changed so much" She said and I smiled. "Apology accepted" I said and she smiled. ♥︎♡♥︎ After taking a shower, I stepped out of the bathroom and stood in front of my dressing mirror. Had I really changed so much after seven years? I had dinner later, and as I ate...my phone chimed and Dave's name popped up in the message bar. "Hey, go to a bar and drink?" He asked. "Nah" I typed back and he called me boring. I laughed. Well I wouldn't deny it. I wasn't used to parties and gatherings, I just rather stayed home. Then I thought of Rhyssa. If anyone ever told me I would ever see her again after I had climbed her window, I would've laughed it off. After I left her house that day, I strived hard. And life was hell then.
