Once in the office, Kasy was seated on a swivel chair, his eyes scanning through the documents on his desk before he slammed his fist on the table angrily.
"Do I have to follow the terms and conditions? Even as the CEO?" Kasy asked nonchalantly, feeling annoyed as he recalled every detail of the documents.
Lawrence, his assistant, moved a bit closer before responding. "That can't be possible. Lawyer Grayson has already stated the only condition to acquire your parent's properties is to get married. Once you get married, the properties will become yours" He explained.
Each word pins a strand of hair out of Kasy's skin, he doesn't want to get married at the moment. Not even when he fell in love with a s**t after a nightstand. How is he going to explain his feelings to someone he didn't know?
With a deep sigh, Kasy asked in a low voice. "Any information about the lady?"
Lawrence understood what he meant quickly and faced downcast as he responded. "I'm sorry to announce no results"
Upon hearing that, Kasy slammed his fist once again, his anger palpable. "What Heck! Can't you do something? Huh? You people are useless! Just find her! Or else you will meet your end soon!" He spat angrily.
He was getting crazy over the slightest thing because of a lady he met once. No matter how he tried to kill the feelings, he was already drowning in his emotions for her, and he must find her at all costs.
Knowing how scary he might be when he got angry, Lawrence quickly grabbed the chance to excuse himself. "I will find her right away." Without waiting for his response, Lawrence quickly rushes out in fear.
Sometimes, it felt like Kasy was the god of fire. His anger is always fierce like fire and someone can't afford to get burnt by it.
Throughout the day, Natasha seems off her usual self. Her mind kept lingering around her Boss; she was still confused about whom she had seen earlier.
"Are you going to stay all day long on that small task?" Miss Caroline said behind her with her eyes glaring at Natasha with disdain. It was obvious that she now hated Natasha because of what happened earlier.
Miss Caroline planned to get close to the boss and probably enjoyed some benefits. However, Natasha was the first person Kasy talked to as soon as he arrived.
Natasha knew where Caroline's anger stemmed from what transpired earlier; she wasn't ready to prolong the matter. "I'm sorry, Miss Caroline." Natasha paused when the time alarm deep; her work was done for the day.
"Sorry, Miss Caroline, I guessed I have to leave." Natasha quickly shut her system down, took her coat, and headed out of the office.
At that moment, Natasha was only thinking about her Grandmother; her existing balance couldn't afford the drugs and injections. While Natasha was still in deep thought and didn't notice what was happening around her, she bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry...." Her words caught up in her throat when she bumped into Kasy as they aimed for the same elevator.
"I can see you are going home without doing your task. How come you become a secretary?" Kasy sneered.
Natasha's heart almost bumped out of its socket; the more she saw him, the more her feelings got complicated.
"I'm sorry, Sir." She apologized.
Meanwhile, Kasy has always detested someone like Natasha, who acts rashly without having any thoughts. The fact that she apologizes quickly annoys him, and her existence seems to get on his nerves.
"Do you..."
His words were short-lived when Lawrence appeared and whispered to his ears.
"No result? Search the whole club again!" He replied nonchalantly before going into the elevator while Natasha stood rooted on the spot.
When he mentioned club, her heart skipped a beat. Checking her pulse casually, Natasha realized that she might get a heart attack soon.
At that moment, her phone rang. Checking the caller's ID, Natasha sighs inwardly; it's a call from the hospital.
"Hello," She muttered as soon as the phone line connected.
"Miss Natasha, kindly come to the hospital. Your grandmother needs medical attention immediately, she has been moved to the emergency ward...."
Natasha didn't wait for the remaining words before she started running; since the elevator wasn't yet free, she took the long step instead. Once outside the company, she took a taxi to the hospital.
In a Rolls Royce Phantom, Lawrence was trying his best again while Kasy was being adamant.
"You needed to do your checkup," Lawrence said, his eyes almost tearing up as he stared at Kasy in a pleading face. It's not easy to have a Boss like Kasy.
"My answer remains the same; you should give up on that," Kasy replied without thinking twice.
Lawrence sighed deeply; he sat back and rested his head on the neck pillow. "My name is Lawrence; I grew up alone as an orphan and craved to have a happy life. When I got the Job to work at the Empire, I was happy thinking that I'd found happiness, but guess what? My boss was always cold and treated me badly when I was trying to care about him..."
Kasy couldn't hold himself back again when Lawrence continued his introduction; he was already aware of what Lawrence was going to say. "Can you just stop? It's annoying! You are a man for goodness sake! Stop embarrassing our gender." Kasy refrained from shouting, but deep down in him, he wanted to shout at Lawrence. If possible, throw a few punches at him for acting like a woman.
"Will you follow me to the hospital then?" Lawrence mouthed, blinking her eyes repeatedly as he tried to act cute.
Kasy didn't want another drama from him, so he decided to give in. "You better stop watching too much K-drama; you are already acting like one," Kasy sneered before looking outside.
Soon, they got to the hospital, and Kasy walked in. However, he was surprised when he saw a familiar figure being dragged out of the doctor's office.
"Please, I promise to pay the bills; just take care of her," Natasha kept pleading for the umpteenth time.
"I'm sorry but the policy didn't work that way. You have to pay the money before we start any treatment"
Natasha fell to her knees, she felt hopeless and tire
d. At this critical moment, a voice came behind.
"I will pay the hospital bills”
