She groan in pain as she lay on the uncomfortable bed. Her eyes darts to the door several times thinking of the impossible. Tears cloud her eyes when she remember the news the doctor had given her earlier.
"I'm sorry madam, but your womb is damaged"! The doctor had said to her earlier. Tears course down her lovely pale face and she soon find herself wailing alone, to herself. She was so lost in her wailing that she barely knew when someone walked into her ward.
"Its okay Kim, its fine. Common, stop crying" the voice of her best friend, her sincere friend who had stayed strong with her from childhood jolted her out of her thoughts.
"No, its not fine Kate. Its not fine!"Kim wail out, restraining herself from yelling.
"Okay, calm down. Tell me, what happened this time?" Katherine Sawyer, a 26 year old beautiful, jovial and successful chef ask her one time best friend.
"He abused me. He r***d me against my pleads, Kate". Kim's voice shook as she said that. Kate's body grow pale for a minute before she quickly revived herself.
"What was the tarry offence he said you committed?" Kate ask as she place a hand on her friend's palm.
"I didn't do anything Kate, I didn't and you of all people should know that"! Kim yell out to her face.
"Shshhhh! I believe you without hearing anything. I know you didn't do anything like the i***t claimed. I'm sorry," Kate said casually as she wipe tears from her face. The door swing open and a young bubbling girl walk in.
"Janelle"! Kim call to the girl, shocked.
"Sis! My goodness! What the hell did that monster of a fiancee do to you?" Janelle Cora, a 19 year old bubbling college girl ask her only family as she walk closer to her.
"I'm fine Janelle. Who called you here?" Kim asks as she survey her sister's colourful appearance.
"I did". Kath reply and a look of understanding pass between the duo.
"So much injuries. What happened?" Janelle ask close to tears.
"He got jealous cos he saw me with Jeffrey, hand around my neck casually. He beat me up, r***d me and force some pills down my throat which resulted to me being here". Kim explains in a croacky voice.
"All of this! All this sis, I simply don't understand why its happening when we can just go to the police and report the crime" Janelle points out as she inspects her sister's injured body.
"I can't do that to him Jane, I just can't. He's my fiancee, I can't do that." Kim reply shaking her head ferociously.
"But he simply can do that to you! He can hurt you like he please cos he thinks he owns you. I never liked him for you sis and I warned you about him earlier but you paid deaf ears to my words cos I'm a small girl so anything I say is useless right? Now, look how far he has gone, just look sis," Janelle yell in anger. Kim's body shook at the words of her younger sister while Kate could do nothing but exhale.
"He's going to change." Kim mutter wiping her tears.
"Obviously he would, probably in twenty years time. You can stay with him and let him kill you since you've lost your sense of reasoning. He keeps telling you he will change but if he doesn't then what happens?" Jane yell and made to leave. She opens the door but stopped on hearing her sister's low sob. She exhales and gently closed the door. She gently walk back to her sister and shove Kate away from her side.
"Look sis, I'm only telling you all this cos I love and care for you and since I do, I will never hurt you. Believe me when I say that monster doesn't love you cos if he does, he would never hurt you, never. And listen, I'm really mad at you, I am mad at you. He assaulted you the first time and promised to change. When you realized he didn't, why didn't you walk out of the relationship? Why? You're even thinking of marriage with him! Do you think I will attend your wedding if you end up getting married to him? Sis, that monster will never change cos a leopard never change his spot. Now, if after all I've said, you still want to die with him,go ahead but just know you've lost me," She concluded harshly and slightly push her sobbing sister away. She get up from the bed and allow Kate take over.
"I'm tired, trust me I am. He's hurt me a lot but I love him. I know my love for him doesn't matter now, not after he's ruined my chances of ever being a mother"! Kim explain and break into uncontrollable tears.
"Pardon?" Kate and Janelle ask at once not understanding what she meant.
"I got pregnant for him. When I broke the news to him, he asked me to abort it. I refused not wanting to kill my baby like I did for the first one. He didn't say anything and I gently harboured my pregnancy. So"
….. She break down trying to speak.
"I'm listening." Janelle said harshly. Her sister take in a shaky breath trying to steady herself.
"When he caught me with Jeff, he got annoyed, beat me, then r***d me with cuffed hands. Afterwards, he forced a pile of pills down my throat. The pills destroyed my womb, they were too strong for me". Kim deadpanned and breaks down.
"Oh my God!" Jane exclaimed in shock. Kate join Kim on the bed and snuggle her closer trying to comfort her with soothing words.
"That monster!" Janelle exclaimed in visible anger.
"That's enough now Jane. You've said enough. All she needs now is our encouragement to walk out of the devilish relationship," Kate explains and Jane slowly nod her head.
"He's threatened to kill me if I think of leaving him. He's going to kill me," Kim's voice shook when she spoke.
"I say we involve the police," Jane suggest now quiet.
"That will only cause trouble. Alex has the wealth and we don't really have much. You just have to run Kim, run, run Kim,Kate advise as she look her in the eye.
"I know." She mutter wiping her tears.
"Good. Escape to anywhere. Don't worry about us, we will be fine. Tell me, are you ready to leave that devil of a human?" Kate ask hopefully. Janelle stare at her sister with a look of pain, hope and worry.
"I am." Kim mutter and that's all she needed for Janelle to draw het into a befitting hug.
