NASANAY akong bukas ang ilaw sa kwarto kahit matutulog. No’ng bata ako, takot ako sa dilim. My mother always told me that I shouldn’t be in the dark because it’s scary there. She said that’s where monsters hide. And monsters are scary. They’ll eat you alive. They’ll take and consume your soul. So when I grew up, she told me not to associate myself with people who have the tendency to go to a dark place¾literally and figuratively.
I thought that wouldn’t change. I mean... seriously. Who wants to be in the dark?
But like Mamu, I was wrong.
