My inspiration for this story was an article I read on the BBC news site about a homeless model. A bit of a silver fox. He’d shower in the gym in the mornings, go to a photoshoot, then sleep under a tarpaulin on a roof at night. Kind of intriguing, because nobody realised.
And Joe vs. Dane? In so many books, the heroine has to choose between the boy next door and a sexy prick. The nice, normal guy’s supposed to win out, right? Well, I decided to make my hot guy genuinely nice, with no mercurial moods or spanky paddles in sight. And just for fun, I made my “normal” guy off-the-charts freaky.
