POV: Elizabeth
The next few days went by in a blur.
By the time I had returned from the woods my mother had already taken my phone insisting that no one from the coven now what was going on until Yule.
Only the elders and the personal guard knew what was happening.
I packed my bags slowly trying to decide what to bring with me and what to leave.
I grabbed some of my favorite leggings and shirts. A few pairs of shoes. That's one bag down I thought to myself.
I looked in the mirror and couldn't help but feel that the new alpha must be disappointed, or he would when he saw me.
Both witches and wolves were supposed to be beautiful. I'm sure he would be disappointed in my plainness.
I looked at the floor length mirror by my closet and couldn't help but be disappointed. My medium length brown hair had some curl to it, I had just showered a few hours ago and it was barely drying.
I was 5"3' with plain features. I wasn't super skinny, I was curvey. I had a DD size chest and an a**. I didn't have a flat stomach.
I couldn't help but feel insecure about my outfit. Pair of fleece leggings and a plain t-shirt. I pulled on a black fleece jacket. I didn't like fashion or dressing up. I liked to not stick out in a crowd.
I finally looked at the one thing about myself I did like. My eyes. My coven was famous for silver eyes. Almost everyone had the exact same glittering silver eyes. Mine were a stunning light blue with a dark blue circle around the iris. Shards of dark blue radiated out from the iris. My eyes were the only thing that was unique or pretty about myself.
I sighed and turned away front the mirror. I went to my vanity and grabbed my music box that held my few prized possessions and put it in between my clothes to help keep it safe.
I then went to my potions table. I grabbed my mini cauldron and as many herbs as I could fit into the small bag I had. I made sure to grab everything of mine that was rare or hard to find. And finally I grabbed my personal grimoire of all the spells and potions I had done learnt, or wanted to learn.
Before heading out I did a quick sealing spell on the bags to make sure only I could open them.
I grabbed them both and headed downstairs to my waiting mother. She was standing at the bottom of the staircase with a few of the elders, some of our personal guard, and a few men I didn't recognize. The men seemed to tower over all the women with them, making them stand out like a sore thumb.
I paused at the top of the stairs taking in the scene before me. All of them standing there obviously waiting on me, trying to make small talk about the weather, or something else like that.
I finally began my descent of the staircase for probably the last time in a long while I thought to myself.
My mother finally saw me when I was about halfway down the staircase. I am very quiet and was trying to not be heard.
"Elizabeth! There you are! You sure have been taking your sweet time haven't you?" My mother snapped at me trying her best to hide her annoyance behind a smile. When she spoke it drew everyone's eyes on me. I hated being the center of attention.
"Alright, are you all packed? Is that it two bags of clothes? You know you'll be there indefinitely right?" My mother asked when she saw the two bags I had packed, she didn't know I had one packed entirely of herbs and my cauldron.
One of the men spoke, "if I may, anything she needs the Alpha would be more than willing to buy. She is his future daughter-in-law after all."
I gave the man a small smile and looked at my mother, c*****g my head to the side slightly. She sighed. "Oh alright then. Well I guess it's time. You will have three of our guards accompany you to the pack lands. At the border two will head back. Emilia will continue to be with you until you are settled then she will also head back. These are some of the pack guards that are here to accompany you to the Winter Woods lands. At the border you will meet more of their men. Alright?"
My mother didn't seem nervous at all over handing over her eldest daughter. She seemed like she just wanted to get the show on the road.
The man that had spoke reached out to grab my bags and I handed them over. He seemed surprised at the weight of the small bag but recovered after just a second. The full cast iron cauldron was quite heavy after all. He said his name was Milo. He was very tall and had dirty blond hair and lots of muscle. Like the other pack men he was wearing a simple black suit and black tie with a white undershirt. Their muscles all popped out from their jackets.
As we all began to move towards the two black SUVs in the driveway Milo put my bags in the trunk and another of the men opened the door for me. I slid in and scooted to the middle as Emilia got in behind me. Milo got into the driver's side and the man that had opened my door got into the passenger side. The smallest of the three men, though not by much, got in on the other side of me.
Milo checked his mirrors and began to drive away. Heading for the borders of our lands. I had never been past our land borders. It was forbidden to even get close to them…..
Emilia tried to break the tension in the car with some conversation. "So Milo? Was it" the driver nodded. "Can you tell us about your packlands?"
