Chapter 7: The Reunion

Mira’s POV

Michael, Derek and Kari filed out of the room. I followed after them while I am may not disobey the command I will go at my pace. Slowly and I will make my entrance as Luna and Future Queen. While they may not know that I am their Future Queen I will be treated with respect still as their mother, wife and Luna. They disrespected and treated me disgracefully last time. My reputation as a Respected and Loved Luna shattered in one night to a Disgraced and Hated Luna.

Kari looked back at me and smirked as she noticed I was far behind them. She knew what I was doing and saying. She looked to the left and tossed her head to signal the coffee station implying I should stop and make myself one before coming in. Prolonging my entrance even more. I smiled at her and watched them turn the corner as I stopped and made myself a cappuccino.

I could hear muffled voices but one stood out louder than the rest.

“Where is the Luna? She was told to be here at this time. We have much to discuss.” Growled Finnick.

Michael answered “The Luna answers to no one but the Moon Goddess herself.She will come at her convenience and not yours.”

I could hear two young voices murmuring amongst themselves before I heard Lucian get up “She answers to her Alpha and Mate. Watch how you speak to him as you are on our lands. We will not tolerate you disrespecting our Alpha again.”He growled.

Michael growled back “I was not speaking to you Beta. But to your Alpha. If he has a problem he can address me about it. And as far as her answering to him, that right was lost when he issued a death sentence on her and as well as her children renouncing their relationship with her before finding evidence of her guilt.”

Then I heard an even louder growl and I could only assume it was Finnicks wolf responding to the blatant disrespect Michael was displaying while truthful it was still considered disrespectful. I decided to make my entrance then before the situation escalated even further.

I walked into the room with my head held high. I looked at everyone. I heard gasps as they all took in my appearance. I could see them staring at my forehead. I stared at them individually, the newly arrived gammas Constantine and Cheryl, the betas Lucian and Jazlyn, my children Noah and Naomi though I smiled softly at them two and finally at Finnick. His face unreadable.

While we stared each other down, my daughter pushed forward and ran to me. The last time I saw her she was this lanky 13 year old barely coming into puberty. She had a baby face then and wore her hair in two braids. Now stood before me a beautiful young woman ready to take on the world.

She was perfect. She hugged me and began to sob. I held onto her and started to cry as I breathed in her beautiful scent of cherry blossoms. “I’m so sorry mama. I’m so sorry. I should’ve believed you. I knew you didn’t do anything to Maw and Paw,” she sobbed into my dress.

I didn’t say anything and held her until her sobs subsided. I simply kissed her brow and then I spoke softly and looked into her beautiful eyes “I do not hold you responsible my beautiful child, you were Ill advised and obeying your father and brother. In the future though my darling as Leaders we do not blame or accept accusations without evidence. Learn from this. Now go sit.” I pushed her gently to her seat.

As I turned around I realized my son was standing quietly behind us waiting to be acknowledged. “Son we will discuss things in private. As a future Alpha and Leader of this pack, your outburst and renouncement of our relationship is something that needs to be addressed not publicly but between you and I alone.” I could see my words hurt him but I needed him to be strong and I did not want him to shed tears in anyone’s presence but mine.”His temper which I know he has because I too have it can cause him trouble in the future. Little did he know , he was a future king and alpha of this realm. His emotions had to be in check. “But my son I am so happy to see you well,” I told him. He glanced up and I saw a bit of happiness in his eyes before he turned serious and sat down.

I didn’t acknowledge Finnick, instead I turned to Kari and told her “Kari please start from the beginning and inform the Alpha of our Mission.”

Finnicks POV

She would not even look at me willingly. She avoided eye contact after addressing our children. I could see how happy my children were to see their mother again. I expected her to tell me what was going on but instead she instructed Kari the omega to do so. Which was strange enough considering the omega was just that an omega, granted she did raise Mira but why would Kari and Mira be involved in a mission together?

“Alpha, 300 years ago a war broke out in the heavens you know the story as we all do. The Moon Goddess Selena and the God of Lycans Lycaon battled against The God and Goddess of Vampires Demitrius and Helana for the superior race amongst humanity. This was the biggest war yet and it had the most casualties on either side. Eventually the Wolves and Lycans started to win due to the Lycans Kings Daughter Sondras immense power. She was beautiful strong and intelligent. She had the power of telepathy, strength, speed and fire. She could manipulate the earth as well. However she had the weakness of Silver and Thorneapple weeds. Of course wolves and Lycans had rid the land of the Thorneapple Weeds so that no one could ever succumb to it or so we thought.

Sondra had no mate by her side to fight in the war she was 21 and young yet. She didn’t want to search for her mate until the war was over as she didn’t want to face the chance of heartache by losing her mate in the war. Unfortunately the time came where she met him. An Alpha of a neighboring pack, his name loss through time came to visit the kingdom to ask for help in beating the vampires at the the borders as they kept attacking him pack and lands.

While asking for help from the king, they met and it was love at first site. Mates. No one can resist the bond. But with the strength of a mate she was destined by the Moon Goddess and Lycan God to defeat the Vampires and bring lasting peace through out the world of supernaturals. However Fate had a different plan. The Vampires became aware of a prophecy that said spoke of a Lycan Queen with immense powers who would tip the balance to good but it could tip the other way by the ultimate betrayal.

Now anyone knew that the ultimate betrayal for any wolf or Lycan would be that from a mate who broke the bond of unity or committed an unforgivable act. The vampires searched for a dark witch through the land to put the mate under a spell and to steal her powers. They were successful, Sondras mate was captured and placed under a spell by the witch. He was tasked with a potion to drain Sondra of her powers, betray their bond with another and then kill her.

The Lycan God and Moon Goddess learned of the plan but by the time they had learned and dispatched more guardians to the princess it was too late. They found her dying from Thorneapple poisoning, her body weak from the draining of her powers. Her personal guardian was laying outside her room dying from a stab wound. Her mate and his lover lay with their hearts ripped out by The princess.

With her pain and imminent death coming she prayed to the Mother of the Gods Ghea to end this war as she did not want the people of the land to suffer anymore until they had a ruler who would fight for peace for everyone.

Mother heard her prayers and granted the Dying Princess her wish. The Vampires and Werekind lost all magic in their people, their crops died, their people began to die. Vampires retreated underground as they no longer had magic against the sun. We were punished with the loss of magical abilities that the gods gave us at our 1st shift. With the loss on both sides the war was soon forgotten as the kings tried to help their people survive. Eventually time passed on until another prophecy was found that The Queen of Wolves and Lycans would become Queen of the land and bring peace for all. Her family would rule for all generations. Her birth would be signaled by a King and Queen with birth marks of a crown and moon, together they will give birth to a Luna Queen. Years passed, all forgotten.”

“With the prophecy out, eventually it came to fruition, however upon learning of her impending birth a Rogue Lycan Paired up with a Vampire Priestess to overthrow the King and Queen and kill the child upon birth.

I interrupted Kari “Yes, yes Kari we all know the story the King and Queen were over taken and the child was killed. We are now ruled by that King and his priestess but what does that have to do with Mira and our family?”

She looked at me as she didn’t take lightly the interruption, “Well that’s only part of the story my Alpha. The rest is unknown but to a few. May I continue?”

I nodded at her soft rebuke.

“The story that’s left out was that the child was not killed but rather she was taken away to be raised by the Queens Guardian and servant. Once the Queen learned of their fate she began to prepare to save the child at all costs, she preyed to the Moon Goddess and Lycan God to prevent her powers from arriving at 21 but to keep them until she was 35. She knew at 21 the princess would be too young to fight and too naive so she wished for the princess to face all that she could in order to grow strong. They granted her wish.

As they could not find the child, The Rogue King told all that the Royal family was killed however that was so no one would fight for the princess and her right to rule. Eventually once the princess grows, has a family and is of age with her powers will she be able to defeat the Rogue King and the Priestess. Her family will be blessed royal ones. Each with a power and each needed to defeat the Evil Rogue King and Priestess. That princess is our Luna.”

I could feel my jaw drop. That was not what I was expecting and by looking around at everyone else they felt the same. I looked at Mira’s face and it held no deceit.

“But mama was found at the border and abandoned. She was raised by you Kari.” Noemi said softly.

“No that is what we told people. I am the Guardian. I am her Guardian and so is Michael.” She stated.

I swung my head back at her again. “So your telling me that she is..you mean she is the Rightful Queen.”

Kari nodded. “Yes the Disgraced Luna Queen as a matter of fact,” giggled the one they called Derek.

I felt a frown form as I knew it was at my doing that she received the reputation of a Disgraced Luna.

“Do we know what powers we all have?” Noah asked.

Mira shrugged her shoulders and looked at Kari. Michael stepped in at this time “The Queen only knows as much as you all at this time. However the powers blessed by the God and Goddess will show eventually. It could be anything.”

It was quiet before Lucian cleared his throat. “So this means a war is coming? Right? She is the rightful queen and there is someone in her throne. We would need to over throw them correct?”

Mira nodded at that.

Well s**t. This was not the reunion I was expecting at all.
