Dace was right, it was time to re-examine his past. He thought he could just let it go, let the past be the past. Unfortunately, the past had a habit of not staying put. “Let’s stop for a while,” Jonas said, pulling Paul out of his reverie. He glanced at his watch. It had taken them six hours to cross the rock cliffs. They’d been walking for about two hours since they’d hit the forest. That was more than enough for one day. He looked at Dace as she sat down on a log. She wasn’t even breathing hard. Her face was as still as always. He wondered what she’d been thinking about as they walked. He wondered about her a lot.
