MARTIN'S POV When Carl left the house, I took a shower. The hot water was falling on my recent scars. I didn't know it could hurt so much. It seemed that the scarring was more cosmetic than real, as it hurt like an open wound. I struggled not to grunt in pain and endured the heat of the water until the bath was over.
