Helga's hut was a few meters into the forest. Initially, according to what Angus had told me, the hut was used as a transformation place for Helga's husband. However, I learned that this did not last long, as the stability of the wolf was gained quickly. In any case, the hut had become a kind of warehouse or something of that sort, I was not confident.
When I moved into the forest, Helga was one of the first to grant me hospitality. I liked her, but I felt that she had a strong sense of the wolf world and judged me because I was still learning. When she found out about the pregnancy, she was thrilled and wanted to help with everything. I wanted to deny it at first, but Angus insisted that her help would be good, especially when he wasn't around. Thinking about the past, it seemed that everything Angus said to me came between the lines that he would not be with me when I needed him. Thinking about it scared me because he was not with me.
When I arrived at the cabin, Henry seemed to wake up, becoming more active, perhaps he was feeling the same energy I was feeling as I was approaching. "Calm down, son. We're here," I said, calming him down. Women were right, being a mother was unconditional love indeed.
As I approached the tent, I heard a scream, which I recognized as Martin's. It was a horrible scream of pain and horror. It was a horrible cry of pain and for a split second, I thought about going back to Helga's house, saying that she was right and that I should wait. Standing in front of the door, grabbing Henry, who was grabbing my hair, I thought. I heard Martin shout once more, and then my body shuddered, wanting to retreat again. I took a deep breath and stepped forward. Likewise, I had already seen Angus change painfully, I had seen other werewolves do the same, and even Martin had not escaped my gaze. It was just another transformation. I knocked on the cabin door, even though I wasn't certain if anyone was there besides Martin.
"Ah, Lacey. Wait a minute," said the voice on the other side. It was Helga's husband, who didn't seem at all surprised by my presence. Before I could respond to the warning, the door opened. "Helga said you would probably show up," he said, giving me passage.
I stepped inside, still calming Henry down from the shouting. "Helga doesn't trust me that much?" I asked, laughing.
"To tell you the truth, I think we were all expecting it, I mean, you always seemed very stubborn and the in the incident, you were acting the same way," he said, amiably, but then I noticed his expression close. "I'm sorry about Angus, we all liked him," he said.
"I appreciate it, Carl," I said. Carl was pretty close to Angus, which made it easy for Helga to be close to me. "How is he?" I asked, trying to see what was in the back of the cabin, but it looked like a normal room. "You heard the screams, so you can imagine. I must say I agree with Helga, it would be better to wait, Lacey," Carl said, visibly concerned. "I feel like I need to see him. I helped him, and he helped me and I think I have to help him again, so please let me see him," I asked, seriously. "Have you ever thought that maybe he would rather not see you?" he asked, reluctantly. "Has he mentioned anything?" I asked, confused and slightly annoyed. "Perhaps," Carl replied so that it was clear that he had, yes, mentioned it. "Okay, hold Henry please, I have something to take care of," I said, handing him my son. I then walked to the back. Carl didn't stop me. I went into the first room I saw, and it was empty there were cabinets with various things in them that I couldn't identify. It was being used as storage. I looked at the other room, which had its door closed. When I opened it, I found a human body on the floor, lying on its side, so I couldn't see its face, but I knew it was Martin, it had to be him. There were some chains around him, clearly used, as there was blood on them. The body also had strong marks from someone who had been hurt. I felt sorry for it. "Martin?" I called out, entering the room and approaching the body. I touched it and turned it toward me, startling myself. "Lacey?" his voice called to me. I pulled away a little, noticing that much of his face was in wolf form, as well as other parts of his body. "What are you doing here?" he asked, panting. "I was worried about you, after everything that happened, but imagine my surprise to find that you didn't want to see me, Martin," I said, harsh and direct. I saw his expression change, embarrassed, but it was short-lived, as the trembling of his body began, and then more changes came. I pulled away some more. "I don't want you to keep seeing me like this, Lacey. Look at that monster, look at me," he said, straining, a little dramatic, but understandable. "I fell in love and married a werewolf, not a monster. Your life is not over, Martin, you just started a new one on top of the previous one. There are people around you to help you, and I am one of them," I told him, sympathizing with his situation. "Help me? You never liked me very much, Lacey, I know that you were always rude, and harsh. I killed the love of your life, why would you want to help me? You should be happy with all the pain I'm in," he said. It hurt me to know that he was right. I should feel all that, but I didn't. "Angus requested me, Martin. In addition, you saved Henry, and more importantly, you saved me. Now it's my turn to save you."
