Lacey never stopped surprising me. Whenever I was wondering if I was doing something wrong or afraid of crossing a line, she would come along and make me question everything. It seemed as if she had become a different person. She loved Angus, for sure, and I was no one to judge their love for each other, definitely no one. However, knowing that she now saw me as a real partner and even Henry's stepfather made me immensely joyful, made me feel alive, and made me believe that I was, in fact, capable of anything. That kiss had taken me by surprise.
