Chapter 2

Rise and shine. It’s my first morning in this timeline.

Red: Good morning! Let’s eat breakfast first, then we will walk around the city.

Kael: That’s great!

After eating our breakfast, we went back to the city to buy some stuff. While walking in the streets, Red told me about everything

Red: Remember what I said yesterday? This is my 3rd time in this timeline. I know you are confused. One of my hobbies is snapping my fingers. As I snapped my finger for the 5th time, a portal suddenly appeared in front of me. I guess you were snapping your fingers also. I went back to the present and heard about the news. Before the portal appeared, lightning struck the ground and I felt some electric shock. That's when my ability is activated. Then, it happens to have a 7 day cooldown before I can use this again. That’s why I keep on using it whenever I’m bored in the present timeline. There’s a condition in our ability. Don’t ever try to change the past or bring some things to our present time. It can affect our timeline and the future. Also, there’s a possibility that our ability will be gone. This is based on my experience. I brought some items from the past and sold them to the museum. I want to be rich to achieve all my dreams, but it has a great effect on my current timeline. This is my warning to you. We can talk to anybody but don’t mention our ability.

Kael: I will remember everything you said. I have a big favor to ask. Can you lend me some money to buy some clothes and slippers or shoes? It’s weird if I wear this stuff in this timeline. They kept staring at me.

Red: Yes, of course. Besides, this money is useless in my year. Let’s go to that store.

Kael: Really appreciate it.

While we were buying clothes, I saw a young lady. She's beautiful. She has long hair with a slight curl at the end. Her lips are red, and her nose is pointed. Her eyes are round and she has long eyelashes. This must be love at first sight.

Kael: Hey Bro! Who is that girl?

Red: I don’t know. It’s my first time seeing her here.

Kael: I see. She’s beautiful.

Red: Do you like her?

Kael: Yes. Do you think we can approach her?

Red: Let’s give a try

Kael: Ahmmm. Hi! I'm Kael. What’s your name?

During that time, girls were very conservative. You can’t talk to them that easily. She ignored me at first but then…

Deborah: I’m Deborah.

Kael: (Happy) It’s nice to meet you. This is Red, a friend of mine. This is my first time in this yea….

Red: Ahemm!

Because of my excitement, I forgot all of Red’s warnings to me.

Deborah: What? What did you say?

Kael: Ah! Nothing! May I ask if we can be friends?

Deborah: Ask permission from my parents first.

So this is one of the cultures in this timeline. Asking permission to the girl’s parents is a top priority. It’s a sign of respect to their families. This is the first time that I like a girl. Her parents called her and said to get back to work. Their family owned that store. I’m scared to approach her parents. Maybe some other time I can ask her to hang out. It’s already nighttime and we head back to Nick’s house to get some rest and that’s the time that I can’t stop thinking of her. I wanted to see her that night but, sadly, there’s a curfew here. Besides, we can’t go to their house that easily. Red told me that tomorrow, he would return to his original timeline, but he would be back soon.

Red: Hey bro! I will go back tomorrow. I’ll see you in 7 days. Remember all the things that I said to you. Also, don’t abuse your ability that much. We need to go back to our present time. We can’t stay here forever. Again, it may affect our future.

Kael: I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll remember everything you said.

Red: Just be careful.

Kael: Thanks bro!

Nowadays, we use our smartphones to communicate with our loved ones. I’m thinking of writing a letter to her if her parents don’t give us permission to be friends.

Hi Deborah,

It’s very rude to keep secrets to your parents but, at least read this letter. The first time that I saw you, you got my attention. Of all the girls in that store, you're the only one who stands out among them. You're extremely beautiful, and this isn't flattery. I want us to be friends so we can get to know each other better. I hope your parents will grant us their approval.
