Rivka froze at Jayden's sudden words and instinctively stepped away from the car.
"Fourth anniversary?" She muttered. "What is he talking about? I'm not even married."
She hurried back upstairs, afraid Caleb might catch her meeting with Jayden.
Not long after she closed her door, she heard the lock turn. Caleb was home.
"Rivka..."
Caleb called her name, his voice heavy with exhaustion.
Rivka quickly steadied herself and peeked out with a practiced smile. "I'm here, Caleb. I was just about to rest."
Caleb walked up the stairs, exhaustion still on his face, but concern clear in his eyes. "How was work today? Everything okay?"
A mix of emotions stirred in Rivka's chest, but she kept her expression steady. "Everything's fine. Don't worry about me. You look exhausted. Go get some rest."
