“Ah. Very nice. This building suits you.” I let that slide and opened the door to my apartment. And, I must say, if I had to pick a time to introduce Dieter to my home, it was a great moment. The warm afternoon sun was streaming through the patio doors into the living room, giving everything a golden halo. The cooking I’d already done had put delightful smells into the air, and the CDs I had not yet shelved spilled from opened boxes, making an inviting mess.
