Maddie shifted her body and sat at the top of the seat, eye wide with hardened expression as she exclaimed almost immediately
“Martha? As in my mum?. No…” huhnnn? Lu? Did you hear that?”

“Yes. Yes Maddie your mum. But I promise! I wasn’t the reason she left. Dave wasn’t cheating on me with her. We had nothing! Absolutely nothing together. Martha was so insecure and kept projecting her fears on Dave. She was the one cheating! Your dad never cheated on her!! I promise.” Karen’s voice broke.
