Chapter 8

393 Words
I make a mental note to set those cameras up immediately. Emma and I walk to the deer. After seeing it up close and actually looking at it. I notice the guts have been removed so that it does swell and the meat don’t go bad. “ Emma I’m going to drag the deer closer to the house so I can process it and put it in the freezer. Can you stay in front of mom so I can keep an eye on you?” “Yes mommy” Okay good, except now that I’ve dragged the deer near the house, how am I going to hang the deer or maybe a fold out table is somewhere. Hmm I think to myself I’ll have to buy a table when I next go into town. While I’m looking for somewhere to process this deer. Emma follows me holding my hand allowing my mind to wonder… How do I have money to might ask? Well I told you my ex was alpha was abusive. But he was very wealthy. Before we got mated I already had my own job as a remote medical coder. It was a random night that I went to have a drink at the local bar. And he was there. Alpha Marcus Malone of the Appalachian mountains. Have you ever heard of the ghost werewolves? It’s a human scary story they like to tell themselves. But little do they know it’s true. They are solid black worriers that have stealth of a ghost. When Marcus and I first met 8 years ago, he was the complete opposite of who he became after we found out Emma was coming. But back to what I was saying, I saved all my money when I was working. I never told him of my hidden stash. But once Marcus and I got mated, I was on all his bank accounts. He said he wanted me taken care of and didn’t want me to have to work for anything. To this day I have no idea how he made money. I was never allowed to snoop the pack lands unattended. So when I had free time; when I had learned his routine, I started nuzzling money away. I never want to feel like I had no exit should he become more and more violent towards me.
