16| Terror

I dropped my bags at the front door Matteo rushed over to pick them up, I stormed my way to Greg's office, "Nia, you can't go in there!" Matteo babbled behind me.

"I'll go where I please." I snapped. "He's in a meeting!" he yelled behind me, I pretended I didn't hear him I opened the door anyway.

"YOU KNOW ABOUT MY MOM AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!" I boomed aliens on Mars probably heard me. I looked around his room with my eyes narrowed I saw a guy sitting in front of his desk dressed in a suit and tie.

I glared at Greg he was looking at me puzzled, "What?!" I snapped.

He stood up and cleared his throat, "Can we talk about this later?" He whispered slightly pushing me out of his office door.

I crossed my arm not moving an inch, "No! I may probably already killed you." I huffed.

"Sorry sir, I tried to stop her." I heard Matteo say from behind me. "You can cancel this so-called meeting and talk to your daughter!"

"Is there an issue?" I looked at the man sitting in front of my dads desk.

"Where do you want me to put these bags. Nia?" I heard Liam say. "I need to hurry up and get home." He trailed off once he saw me and my father.

"We can finish this meet up another time as of now I have another business meeting to attend to." The man said standing up and fixing his tie.

"My mom..." I started, "Shes dying, a-and you have the nerve to keep that from me." I lowly whispered.

I stared at him dead in the eyes, "MY MOM IS DYING AND YOU KEPT THAT FROM ME!" I shouted.

I get a had on my shoulder, "Nia... maybe you should calm down and-"

"I'm f*****g sick and tired of people telling me to calm down, it was Trey now it you! It's like people don't want me to feel!"

I grabbed a hold of my head and groaned, "I have a f*****g headache, you guys are giving me a f*****g headache!"

I turned around on the heels of my foot facing the door, "Moms staying with us."

"W-What?" He stutters, "You heard me the first time."

"Matteo, help my mom upstairs to her room."

"Greg." I heard my mom say from behind the door she was standing with Veronica.

"Sharon."

The day went on and I was beat, I dried my hair and plopped in my bed with my towel still wrapped around my body.

"Life is so... confusing." I yawned. "That indeed is true."

I shot my head up I looked around the room, "Jake."

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you... your- well two lady's let me up." He says sounding confused.

"Are your parents gay?" He questioned sitting on my chair.

"No!" I blurt out, "That's my mom and one is my stepmom." I explained. "There living together? If my mom was your mom she would've killed your stepmom."

I laughed, "What are you doing here anyway."

"Oh. I wanted to see if I..." He paused and stood up and grabbed a hold of my hand. "If you could what?" I say with a smile.

He twirled me around and then dipped me, "If I could take you out." He says with that charming smile of his.

I laughed, "Where to?" I say with a smirk.

"I was thinking milkshakes at freeze-bear, then a walk on downtown then," he paused making my curiosity linger, "then what?"

He started to laugh, "You'll just have to find out." He chuckled.

I playfully hit him, "You're so annoying."

My phone started to ring, "Hold on real quick."

I picked it up caller I.D Rose I answered it and walked to my window. "Hello?"

I heard sniffles from the phone I frowned, "Are you okay? Do I have to kill somebody?"

I turned around looking at Shawn and smiled he shook his head with a slight chuckle. "I-I saw Cole kissing some other—" she paused and let out a loud sob. "who was he kissing another dude?" I questioned.

"No... he was kissing some girl with a huge Afro. She was hot I could never compete." She cried.

"Can I come over..." she sniffed, "Um..."

I looked at Jake he was on his phone I coughed, "I'm kinda going out with someone tonight." I let out.

I bit my bottom lip hoping I was making the right choice... deep down inside I knew I was in the wrong.

"Oh! Um... it's okay I'll just finish up some homework." She sadly said. "Tell me all about this date later though..." she trailed off, "it is a date right?"

"Yeah... with Jake." I squealed but low enough so that he couldn't hear me.

"Didn't he like call you a b***h and try to kill Liam?" She says reminding me, "He's changed, I think. Plus I'm kind bored." I whisper.

"Listen when I get back even if I'm tired or half asleep or maybe f*****g drunk on the side of the road." I paused to catch my breath, "I will Face-Time you for as long as you need and then the next day I will slap that b***h ass hoe in his dumb face."

She started to giggle, "Okay." She cheerfully says. A small smile appears on my face.

"I don't want to hold you up any longer then I've already have." She softly says. "Okay."

"Bye Nia, have fun but, don't have too much fun." She chuckled. "I don't know... I might get pregnant tonight." I joked.

"Nia!" She laughed.

I started to laugh, "Okay I gotta go."

"Bye."

"You know I'm surprised that towel hasn't fallen to the ground yet." I hear Jake say.

"You doing all that laughing and moving around." He teased.

"JAKE!" I yelled and hit him across his head. "You should've told me." I chuckled.

"But I did." He says with that dumb grin of his. "Out now. I have to get dressed."

"Aw... how come you can come like that." He teased.

"Shut up. You must like me hitting you."

He gets up and puts his hands up in surrender, "No ma'am. I'm out." He chuckled getting out of my room.

Once he stepped out my room I dropped my towels and put my undergarments on and some lotion along with some oil.

I put on a black hoodie dress and did my hair into two braids it was wet I couldn't really do anything with it.

I put on all white Nike sneakers along with my Nike socks and dashed out my room.

Me - "Okay, his scary ass don't want to ride on roller coasters "

Rosie - " what kinda s**t is that?"

Rosie - "Good!"

"Nia." I hear Jake say.

I don't lift my head from my phone. "Yea" I say still looking down smiling at my phone.

"Tell Rose bye, you with me right now." he says

I rolled my eyes putting my phone down, I re-positioned my self to where I laid on his chest listening to his to his heartbeat.

I never laughed so much... The last time I've been at a carnival was when I was nine. I ain't been back since. Being here brings back so many childhood memories. The bright lights lit up the night, making everything look so pretty. The loud screams from kids dropping from the 'death drop' terrified Jake. The long line is the only thing stopping me but, I'm willing to wait if this guy doesn't stop being a p***y.

"p***y" I laugh.

"And ion give a f**k, I ain't getting on that s**t" he says I let out a laugh, "whats funny?" he asked

"nothing , yo' Scary ass" I pout while chewing on my popcorn. He puts his right arm around my shoulder he kissed my forehead , it was cute. passionate. So I smiled. After a while of walking around, taking pictures, eating, having a great time we chilled in his car watching the fireworks. I was looking down at my phone when I received a text from my dad.

Dad - where are you?

Soon as I was about to reply Jake grabbed my phone. "You always snatching stuff." I say.

"I just want your attention." he say kissing on my cheek then my neck.

Don't turn your head I tell myself - I turn my head, The touch of his lips on mine were gentle, they were soft. It was a heavenly sensation and as I felt his tongue probe between my lips I thought my body would explode. My heart started to pound as his hands went up my shirt to unstrap my bra. I pulled away.

"No.." I say.

"Tsk. Shy ass" he says with a smirk on his face.

I smiled "It's getting late .. I should get going home Jake." I say coming up with a good excuse to get my self out of the current situation. It was too soon and I'm not ready. I turned on the radio as we pulled out of the parking lot. We were vibing together singing songs until his phone started to ring. He sucked his teeth looking at the caller Id. He turned down the radio as he put the phone to his ear.

"Hello-" he paused to listen "What I tell you about calling me with all that nonsense." He says I gave him the side eye as we pulled up in the gas station "Jax you blowing me ... Yes she with me—" He hung up

"Um." I hummed.

"It's nothing." he simply says.

I chuckled turning back on the music vibin forgetting about time. We made a stop at the gas station, He got out to pump the gas. I went into the gas station to get some juice. The male cashier smiled at me when I entered. He was tall, he had a low hair cut with a caramel complexion. I went and got my favorite soda , sprite. I approached the cashier putting my things on the counter.

"This is all ?" he asked I nodded looking in my purse for my wallet I pulled out the money and handed it to him.

"Have a great night." He says. "You too."

I stand by Jake as he pumps the gas "Why you coming out of the gas station smiling girl" he ask

I laughed "the cashier was nice-"

A car sped into the gas station , they pulled up right beside us. The next thing I know three dudes start hopping out of the car. "RUN Nia don't look back" He shouted It all happen so fast, I took off running as I was told leaving Jake behind. I never feared for my life, I felt my pocket for my phone but I remembered It was in the Jake's car. s**t. I looked behind three guys were chasing after me and boy were they catching up. NOT TODAY SATAN. NOT TODAY.

I ran through the dark woods, scraping up my legs running farther into the woods not knowing where I was heading to. I then trip over a rock falling down. I got up but, by the time I got up it was too late. They had caught up to me. A strong guy yanked me up by my arm, I elbowed him "GET OFF OF ME!" I scream he then punched me in my face, then in my stomach making me spit out blood causing me to hang over falling to my knees, he yanked me up again but this time more stronger. I tried pulling away, kicking and screaming but they all grabbed a hold of me, yanking off my clothes. There was nothing for me to do but take the blows hitting my face as they touched my body as I screamed in pain Hoping they'd stop but the louder I screamed the more they continued. They laughed at my pain.

One guy took out his cellphone and put the flash on me, "Stop it please..." I croaked.

I heard footsteps coming from my left, "I didn't tell you to do all of this now." I heard a familiar voice say.

When he came into view my eyes went wide, "JAKE!" I gasped.

"That's my name."

"WHAT THE f**k!!!"

"I thought you changed I thought you liked me, you are a piece of s**t you know that."

He rolled his eyes, "She never shuts up, sorry about that guys." He sighs. "I had to pay Liam back for my f*****g arm and embarrassing me in front of the whole school. He's such a nuisance."

"He clearly has a thing for you so I just decided to, ya know do this to get back at him."

"When you see him," he pauses and squats, "Tell him I changed and I'm not one to f**k with." He says with a sadistic smirk.

"That is-" he trails his finger down my cheek, "If you make it out of here."

And just like that, they left me there in the middle of f*****g no where lying on the cold dirt ground.

"Someone h-help me..."
