Announcement and Cleanup

2083 Words
The next day, the pack gathered in the great hall to get everything cleaned up and ready for the announcement that William and I had. After breakfast, we got started while all the children were still sleeping. After we were done, it was time for the children to start waking up, so we all dispersed to our separate rooms and houses to get the children ready. The teenagers and the omegas were the only ones that stayed behind at the pack house; they were the ones that the announcement pertained to the most. When I got to the girl's room, they were sitting up on the edge of their beds just chatting with each other about what kind of announcement their father and I had for everyone. They were chatting when I knocked on the door frame, they looked up, and I asked if I could come in and talk to them about something. They said yes. I walked in and sat down in Leah's desk chair for this talk. I had a feeling that William was having the same one with the boys. I told the girls that we were going to be hosting an event called a mating ritual and ceremony. I was excited and also scared of what would happen when they found their mates. I just hope that they are good for each other. Nicole was the first to speak. She asked me what kind of event we were to be hosting. I told them that it was an event where they could meet their mates. I texted William and asked him if he and the boys had talked about the event coming up soon, and I got the reply, "Yes, the three of them were talking about it right now." I asked him if the boys were already done getting ready, and he replied that they were just getting the finishing touches put together. We always walked down to the hall as a single unit. He asked me if the girls were ready or not. I said yes, they were ready. I wished the girls would do like they used to do when they were little and hold my hand, but they wanted to walk down with their brothers who were walking in front of their dad and me until we got to the hall where they stood right at the front of the little stage that was at the front of the room. They knew right where their spots were. The other teenagers and young adults as well as some of the unmated adults and their parents were also there on the stage waiting for our announcement. I was truly worried about whom the goddess was going to pair the four of them with. I guess we will find out in about a month or two. I just hope that whoever their mates are, I hope that they are good to each other. We have tried to teach kids to use their words to express how they are feeling instead of their bodies. I just hope that they remember what they were taught. William and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes as we walked to the front of the stage. I went to call the girls up to go on the stage as well as the boys. They all knew the surprise but were asked to keep it to themselves. They wanted to tell all of their friends but knew that we wanted to let the rest of the pack know ourselves. I told them to come up and stand with their dad and me for a moment. When they came up on the stage, they stood by us, but the boys were closer to me and the girls closer to William. William asked the Betas, Gammas, and Deltas to come, as well as their kids who were the same age as our four children. Lahaunta and Kyle had the same fear on their faces that I had, but they were trying hard to hide it. Their son is the same age as me and William's boys and their daughter was the same age as the girl's are. Cheyenne and Gavin were clearly since their daughter was a year younger than mine and William's two girls. I was glad that I had William by my side because he and the guys were not as worried as we females were. Once all the kids were on the stage with their parents, we were going to give the announcement. I looked up from the microphone and saw that our parents were coming in with my aunt and uncle. I told them that they had to help us with this announcement but that it wasn't a bad announcement as some of the pack members started to murmur when the six of them got to the stage. I asked uncle Rick "do you want to give the news?" He told me "Sure I will give it then afterward they needed to talk with just the high-ranked members." William told him that we could meet in my office to talk, which was all William said to him. Rick told him that sounded good. Rick started the announcement by greeting the pack members. "The reason that we called the meeting is that this pack received a hand-delivered letter yesterday that he brought himself asking William and Rose if they would take their turn as hosts for the mating ritual and ceremony." The pack started to murmur about what their kids were going to wear and how they wanted their hair and nails done. So, William used his alpha voice to calm everyone down so that we were going to tell the Council yes and that it wasn't about what you look like but how you act at this event that would get you noticed by your mate. Rick and Johnia were both pleased that we would accept this honor for our region. He backed up and let Johnia have the microphone, and she told them "You all know how it works and for the young ones that are just coming of age, it is a ceremony kind of like a prom or homecoming at school." I told them that "You will be with other not mated omegas and alphas, betas, and gammas, deltas you will mingle and talk with them. When you find the one that is meant for you, you will know when he or she is in the room, you will be drawn to that person and, at that point, you will have to listen to your wolf. He or she will let you know when your mate is nearby. All you have to do is listen to him or her and what they are telling you. I know that some of you think that the person you're in a relationship with might be your mate. Well, you might find that they aren't." "I hope you all made a vow to stay true to your true mate. Nothing hurts more than to know that you were not your mate's first, especially for the girls," I tell everyone. William and I knew from experience what not being true to your mate feels like. William steps up to the podium and tells the group, "Guys, I know you can get possessive over the girl you are in a relationship with currently, but you have to know that if you turn out not to be her true mate you will have to let her go to and be with her mate, but Luna Rose and I will be here if anyone needs us it is our duty to our pack and our home to be present. We will be helping with all the preparations leading up to the day and even on the day and after.” I think that the kids will be fine. Well, most of them, anyway, will be fine with having this party and just want them to help anyone that is not ready and the ones that ask for it. I am just hoping that there won't be any fights and that they will compose themselves in the manner that they have been taught. This is a huge deal for our pack and the fact that they will have people that are not around our pack on a regular basis here, and they will see that our pack is a very well put-together pack. I am just so worried about all these other packs that are going to be here that there are bound to be a few harsh opinions, and I trust that our kids will hold on their own and help to calm any tensions that might arise. William and I, along with our parents, have begun preparations for getting everyone ready and to have enough dresses waiting for all the girls and also to have enough suits for all the guys to have a choice to pick from. My mom called all of her designer friends and asked if they could help out. They all said yes and that they didn't get much work this time of year. I called Carrie Kerry, and she is always willing to help. We have finally opened the boutique. It has all the big names, like LaPointe and Carrie Kerry. The boutique is called The Blue Rose Moon Pack Boutique. The idea is that anyone can always get whatever they need at any time that they need it, no matter what the cost is. I have always wanted to have a business where anybody could go to get any kind of outfit that they might need. We even have clothes for everyday clothes for all sizes from baby to adult. I have not shown the kids their presents from the whole boutique. We all got together and made them dresses and suites in their favorite colors. I just hope that they like them. Leah helped with all the dresses and suites, but the one meant to be for her was the only one she didn't know anything about. All the dresses were made very tastefully and did not show alot of skin while still showing some, because if their father or grandfathers saw how the dresses in other packs are worn they would not let our kids attend. I am sure that those kinds of packs will be here in 4 months' time. We haven't gotten a full estimate of how many packs there are to attend yet. I am so worried that we are going to have trouble between packs and pack members. I just hope that, if there is, it will not be over who is whose mate and fights. That can be avoided if they were taught to be true to their mate, their other half, the person that was made for them. I just hope that nine of them are with our pack members and if they are, they are resolved quickly and quietly. I feel that everyone should be taught that even at an early age, but not every one sees it that way. There are some that think having a mate will make you look like a weak person and there are others that think that having a mate that they have both have to be of the same rank as each other. William and I have always taught our children that mates are a gift and that they are to be loved and cared for, not just used as a piece of property. I just hope that their mate has been taught the same way. William and I were at the boutique with all the outfits and I made sure that the girls would put everything in gift boxes so that no one could see them till the big reveal in about two months' time. When we got back, we handed each one of the girls their box and the guys their box. William and I had a box and so did our moms and dads. The girls and guys were really impressed that we got their colors right. In our defense, they have had the same color since they were little kids. These were just outfits to show what the real one was going to look like, so that they could get used to wearing something so extravagant, and it is one that we will put up as well as the one that they get for the ceremony.
