A Fight Brought to the Intruder They Didn't Expect

Once, the warriors came up from the basement and let us, Rick and the other council members know what the two of them said as they were locking them up. All of us were told that they were going to send a mind link to a man named John, and he would be here soon to attack and free them so that they could get revenge on William and me for humiliating them as we have. The other council members had already been filled in as to what happened before they got there. We told them everything that had happened. I looked at the council and said, "They were going to kill our children as well. We also told them that those two were the ones who told them to send us the host's invitation for the mating ritual and ceremony. He looked at me and William, who had shifted into his wolf Shumani and had Ayden, who had shifted into his wolf Moonclaw, pinned up against the wall." Rick turned to me and William and the rest of the council and said that he noticed that I was getting ready to shift when he looked over at me and said "I was the one that brought the hosting invite to you, and how would they have known about it? "I was the one that chose you for your region because the two of you and this pack know how to handle themselves and know how to keep your pack together." He told them and I asked him "How and why were we still dealing with these sorry excuses for werewolves?"

He told them that he then looked at me with understanding and said with all truthfulness in his eyes. She had come to the council and asked if we knew of any packs that had a grudge against us, and we told her that we didn't think that there were, because all the surrounding packs had reported that we came to their aid whenever or if they were being attacked or if they were ever being attacked. He also told them about the time I was going to say something about that, and Akeera said that the Rose Moon Pack never came to their aid, and then I looked at her and told her that IF we had gotten a message that they had been attacked. We would have been there as fast as we could have gotten there. Then I looked at Ayden and asked how many times he had sent a message to us. He looked at her and then at me and said that the Night Howl pack had not been attacked since their kids were really little. Since I was the one who kept all the files together and organized, I called one of our warriors and clerk, Carrie, and asked her to get my files from seventeen years ago.

She went to my office, took my laptop from my desk and brought it to me, so I could put in my password. I could tell her what to look for specifically. As soon as she found it, she pulled up the list of emails and other notes from back then, and I asked her if there was an email from Ayden when she looked for it herself and couldn't find anything. I knew that he had told another lie, and so did Akeera, and she looked at him and asked why he didn't say anything to us, because she knew we were bigger and stronger than even they are.

They are going to make sure that we lose because they might not be wolves, but they have the power of seduction, and if any of us were to see the way they can move their bodies, they would fall head over heels for them. Rick looks at me and says not to worry, we will not lose. We have a bigger and stronger pack than them, and we have a backup that just got here as well. I let go of Akeera and shift. As soon as I do, I grab her by the collar of her shirt and drag her outside. When I throw her out so she can shift, I am going to destroy her so that Ayden will know what it is to F*** with my pack for the rest of his life. As she is shifting, I see my mom, Jamie, and Kim coming. I also saw William shift in the form of Shumani with Ayden in his wolf form pinned to the ground. William had him by his throat when I grabbed Akeera, who had finally shifted. I grabbed her by the throat because she was no warrior. She went down easily, and I bit down and gave just a little shake of my head, and she was dead. As soon as I got up and looked at William, he did the same to Moonclaw. They didn't have the fighting skills that William and I had, so they were easy to subdue.

The next ones I went to were my mom and her girls. I want to tell them off about coming out of the safe room. When William saw who I was going after, he took off after me and I stopped him from getting too close to them so that I could have the satisfaction of telling them that they had just put all of us in even more danger because we had to protect them. I called Carrie and her wolf Sarada and her mate Chris and his wolf Eison and told them to get the three of them back into the house and to the safe room with my kids. They bowed and did as they were told to do. I love the three of them, but they can be so infuriating sometimes. I tell myself before I see a black wolf coming toward me and I know exactly who it is. It was John, and he was easy for William and me to subdue and take through the house to the dungeons where we threw him into a cell along with his mate. Once everyone was down there that had anything to do with the attack that we had just had, they were all separated. After everything was done, William and I made sure the Night Howl Pack along with their allies were not going to put up any more of a fight.

The council members, as well as William and me, along with our Betas, Deltas, and the Gammas, all wanted to go to the dungeons to get to the bottom of the attack today. Our parents wanted to be with us, but we were still furious with my mother and sisters. We wanted to see if we needed to call it premeditated or if it could be called something else. The first cell that I stopped at was the Night Howl Beta John and the female Beta MaryBeth, and I asked them why Akeera and Ayden wanted to attack my pack, but they wouldn't say anything till I told them that their Alpha and Luna were going to die anyway, but we needed to get as much evidence against them as we could and then MaryBeth told me that they wanted to take over the packs in the region this way they would be the strongest and the biggest because they were power-hungry and that they just want to see how many packs that they can take over.

I looked at William, and he shook his head to let me know that he was thinking the same thing as I was. We let everyone else know we were going to give any of the Night Howl pack members who wanted to stay with us, they could. I had Aspen and Cheyenne go up to the children's room and check on them and let everyone know that they could relax, and they didn't have to stay crammed in the safe rooms anymore. William sent Kyle and Gavin to check on anyone who might have gotten injured. We told them to link us if we were needed. As they left, they walked out together and then split up and carried out their assignments. We got a link from the girls saying, "That the kids are good and the Night Howl pups are asking where their mom and dad are?" I told them: "Tell the children that we have to talk about what happened, we would be done with our meeting in about an hour." Marybeth finally told me that they had helped Ayden and Akeera take over at least seven other packs and ours was just another in a long list that they were trying to take over.

After the meeting was over, the Night Howl Pack Alpha and Luna were to be executed because it was finally brought to light that everything they said was true, and they had planned it all out. Some of the omegas that were treated badly by the two of them were released and are now on their way back to their home to get anything that they wanted to keep and bring out of their pack and bring it here to our pack. They had expressed that they didn't want to be rogues. We allowed John to go free for now because there was not enough evidence against him as of now anyway. As we were walking up the stairs to the kids' rooms, we got a link from the guys saying, "There were none of the pack hurt on our side, but there were a few of the Night Howl pack that had minor injuries." William told them to "take them to the infirmary to be checked out and then bring them to my office so that Luna and I can talk to them." I just hope that my children and their mates won't be too upset with the information that we just found out when we tell them.

William and I stopped by the great hall and talked to the rest of the Night Howl pack and got a vote as to who wanted to stay and join the Rose Moon pack and who was going to be left out in the wide-open as rogues. Most of them are going to go get their stuff and then, in a few weeks, we will have a ceremony to welcome new pack members. Most of the ones that are coming back are high-ranking members and all the low-ranking members. A few of the young and middle-aged men and women that we're able to help asked the new members if they needed any help packing and moving, and they accepted the help. I asked them how long they would need to get everything moved, and the pack said about a week, and it was settled. I wasn't happy that we were going to have a trial and then a possible execution, but I knew that if we let them go then they would try again and the next time might be a time when we are vulnerable. I knew this needed to be done. I just really wish it didn't have to happen this way. I am the kind of person that will only fight when it is absolutely necessary. They have pushed me too far with their nonsense. Luckily, the trial won't take up too much time, and then we can get back to normal daily activities. I just want one day to be a normal day and a day so that my children and their mates can get to know each other.

The next day was really uneventful. William and I told the kids to just enjoy the day and get to know each other. I told them to go to different places and just talk to one another. James took Kate (as I had begun calling her) to his favorite place, a clearing in the middle of the woods. He thinks that he was the only one that knew about it, but his grandparents were going to put a house in that same spot for themselves at one point. He showed them this place when he was about 10 years old, and they decided to put their house on the spot it is now. Each of the kids has a favorite place in the packland. Anthony took Sophia to his favorite park. The park was actually built when William was little so that he had a place to play and wear himself out. Nicole and Matt went to the back gardens that were actually set up by her great-grandmother when she was first mated. Leah had always been more into the indoor gardens that her grandma, Callison, had put in when she and George were mated. To be honest, I have to agree with her. I have always liked indoor gardens. I love the back gardens as well. They put in a lot of the plants and flowers native to our region, but also some that each one of the Luna's throughout their reign liked.
