Their glazed eyes suddenly regained focus as the wails and screams of the warriors getting dragged echoed around them, snapping them out of their trance. The temperature around them dropped several degrees, leaving a slight chill on their bodies, causing them to shudder involuntarily.
“What is going on?” the emperor said, panicking as the warrior beside him vanished, his scream adding to several others. “Do something,” he screamed. The last thing he remembered was climbing the mountain and hurrying to find shelter. Now, all around him was darkness and wails of anguish.
