Nightmares

The Start of Something New

            “Oh s**t” I said as I hit the floor just on the other side of Thomas. 

“Rebecca is that you? I thought the man that had grabbed me from the lounge was back again to gloat that you wouldn’t be able to save me. How did you know to come save me? I thought I was going to be sick when he brought me here, though I’m not sure how he managed to bring me here in the first place. Rebecca did you break anything when you fell just now? And why are you wearing clothing from four time periods, not that you don’t look sexy, but it’s all just a bit much.” he ranted on and then decided to chuckle when it was all over. 

            “That last bit might be a little hard to explain on the clothes and how you got here since the answer is ‘I’m not sure’ on both of those. And I don’t think I actually broke anything when I fell, though I’ll probably have a few bruises later on today. I think we should get you out of this cave and maybe back into a house where you can get a shower and maybe a shave since you are a little ripe.” I giggled as I helped him to stand up and get out of the cave.  

It took us about another hour and a half to get back the where my parents were staying. When we got back, I had to hold my parent's questions off until I had made sure that Thomas was inside a shower and the water was actually running. And even then, I made sure that we were sitting in the kitchen at the other side of the house. 

            “Okay, so what questions do you have for me?” I asked my parents while I kept my coffee in my hands. 

“So, what all happened when you went to the Valley? We want to know if these nightmares are finally over or if we have to worry about more of them coming up? And your clothing is a little out of place honey.” said my dad with a small chuckle. 

            “Well do you remember the small items of jewelry I received the second summer we were here? Well one of those items was a Jasper ring that I had kept around my neck since the day I got it. I put it on when Immend said that I was born in the very Valley when I was called Isis, and that the people that lived around the Valley were the decedent's of my family members. Apparently, they were welcoming me back when they saw me that day. But a long story short I put the ring on and my clothes changed into this. I was able to take Immends head off with the katana that the Goddess Isis gave me the other night. After that Anubis and his hounds came and took him to the Underworld. I was told where Thomas was and we came back here right after that. I said with a small shrug of my shoulders. 

“We are glad that you are safe and back here with you sweetheart. Why don’t you go use our shower and change back into some clothes from this time period. When Thomas comes out we will make sure that he gets some food and water, and we won’t ask him any questions unless he wants to talk about it. We promise.” my mother said with a small smile. 

            I showered as quickly as I could to take all of the sweat and grit off from my fight so that way Thomas wouldn’t have to be left alone with my parents for too long. As I was coming around the corner everyone was laughing, that could only be due to the fact that my mother had pulled out the photo album. I saw shaking my head knowing exactly which one my mother was showing him. 

            “I thought you had said you wouldn’t pester him! Why are you pulling out my pictures from all of the summers we were here and I tried my hand at finding hidden items that you guys left for me to find?” I asked as I came up behind my mother and took the book from her hands closing it rather quickly.

 “It was only one picture Rebecca, there wasn’t anything else that hey showed me. I was only out of the shower about five minutes before you were. Your father was even kind enough to lend me some of his clothes, that way I’m not walking around here in nothing but a towel.” he said with a slight blush to his cheeks. 

            “Well wasn’t that just nice of my father to do that for you Thomas. I guess they also offered you coffee too?” I questioned with a knowing look at my father. 

“I’m sorry, did you say there was coffee?!” Thomas said while jumping off the couch and running to the kitchen. 

            I giggled and followed after him to show him where everything was. My parents had said that they were going to go search the vendors for more food for lunch since there was now four of us here instead of just the two of them. I giggled at them as they closed the door. I was just walking into the kitchen doorway when Thomas grabbed me around the waist and pulled me into a rather tight hug. 

“I was afraid that I wouldn’t get to see you again Rebecca. That strange man kept saying that he was going to kill you and that would be the end of everything.” he was starting to cry as he kept ahold of me. I was trying to wrap my arms around him to comfort him, but Thomas decided at that moment to put his hands on either side of my face and kiss me.

            I was so shocked that I didn’t know what to do but stand there with my arms at my sides. I wasn’t sure what exactly to be doing at that moment when he pulled his head back and was blushing the shade of a ripe tomato! 

“I’m sorry Rebecca I just had to do that!” Thomas said as he was turning around to put some space between us. I grabbed his hand and pulled him back to me. It was my turn to surprise him with a kiss of my own.
