I storm into my office, eyes blurred with angry tears as I stumble to my floor length window and shove the upper section of it open. I stick my head out and draw in a huge breath, my lungs burning with the force.
How did I let myself lose control like that?

“We could have hurt mate!” My wolf whines in despair, clawing at the surface. I fight him down and take another lungful of air, trying to dispel the taste and scent of Nicole from my lungs.
“f*****g asshole, you scared her!” Cindy yells at me, but I'm too focused on my breathing to try and say anything to her. To anyone.
“Calm down, babe.” Emerick says softly.
“Calm down? Do you know what would have happened if she didn't push him away? He would have marked her!”
