Chapter 11: Escape They arrived at the edge of a white sandy beach under the shade of a tall palm tree. Beyond the sand was a beautiful blue ocean, with only tiny waves coming to shore. “Wow!” Armand said, and nodded. They sat down in the shade to relax, and see if anyone else is around. Holding hands with Armand, Carl felt very peaceful. He looked around idly. “Where are we? And when?” “An island in the Caribbean, in the 1700’s. I don’t remember the name of the island, or the year exactly. It’s a location where there was very little human activity—a so-called dead zone.” Armand shrugged. “I thought it would be ideal.” Carl nodded slowly.
