Chapter 18 She Is Moving In With Me Damian’s P.O.V. Last night she agreed to move to my pack. I am both ecstatic and nervous. (On one hand my mate is going to be living with me from now on. On the other hand my mate is going to be living with me from now on.) First thing the next morning I wake her up and get our things in the car so that we can get an early start on the trip home. Although my pack is in Washington it is still about 4 hours away.  The trip was quiet she hardly speaks to me but it isn’t an altogether uncomfortable silence. Finally I flip onto the road to take us home.  As soon as I reach my pack, I can hear her audible gasp. I can’t help but smile at the sound.  “Is there only werewolves here,” she asks me in awe of my pack. (It might seem like a weird question because for the most part pack live in seclusion but she probably has never seen a pack as big as mine. So she probably thinks that we are one of the few packs that share our town with humans. However we are not.” I decide to respond with, “mostly, there are of course some human mates.”  (Her expressions are beautiful. Hell, everything about her is beautiful.) (No) (No) (No) (I can’t think about her like that. I can’t risk getting hurt. I need to remember distance). While pulling up to the pack house I just keep reminding myself of distance.  Then right as I park, I make a mistake. I look at her. (She is gorgeous. With black hair falling to her hips, pale skin, blue eyes, and lips that are perfect for kissing) (God Dammit. Focus.) “Or don’t,” mutters Demon. “Helpful,” I tell him, while rolling my eyes. I hop out of the car as fast as possible. I only glance back once to make sure she is following me.  I walk up the stairs, to the 5th floor, turn and head all the way to the end of the hall where our room is. I open the room and tell her, “I will have someone give you a tour later.” She stares at me, “Where are you going?” She asks. (Away, while I still can.) “I have a pack to run woman.” With that I turn away and walk across to my office.  (More than anything I want to turn around and run back into my mates arms). “Then do it,” my wolf tells me.  “No, we are trying to stay distant remember. We agreed that it was for the best.” I remind him. “Yeah I change my mind. Let’s go be with our mate.” He responds. I roll my eyes at my wolf step into my office and try to get myself together. I take a few deep breaths and get started on my work. After awhile I mindlink one of the Omega’s to take my mate on a tour.  Late that night I finally decide I need to get some sleep. “We are going back to our mate?” My wolf of course perks up. “No I think that is a really bad idea.” “I think it’s a great idea,” my wolf responds. “Yeah, well that is because only one of us is keeping to our plan to stay distant.” “That is because the other one of us changed his mind and thinks distance is a bad idea,” Demon tells me.  I sigh before walking over to the little couch in my office and falling asleep.
