I sat listening to my sweet mate tell everyone what her so-called family had done to her, and it took every ounce of control I possessed not to shift right there in the middle of the pack hall.
"When my parents died, I was twelve years old," Lily's voice was soft but steady, her eyes locked on mine like I was the only thing keeping her grounded. "Uncle Derek told me I was lucky he was willing to take me in. That no one else wanted a pathetic Omega who couldn't even shift yet."
