# Chapter 19: Taunts
**Marcus's POV**
Once I was home and settled back in our quarters—Lily hovering anxiously while my mother fussed over getting me comfortable—I finally allowed myself to collapse onto the bed with a groan of relief.
Every muscle in my body was screaming. The memorial had taken everything I had, and then some. But it had been worth it. Sam deserved to be honored, and the pack needed to see that their future Alpha was still standing.
Even if "standing" was a generous description of my current state.
"You're insane," Lily said, but there was fondness mixed with exasperation in her voice. She carefully arranged pillows behind me so I could sit up without putting too much pressure on my ribs. "Completely and totally insane."
