CHAPTER FIVE

THEODORE COHEN I saw the lights being switched on, and I learned by now. My plan had worked. I had gotten into that pretty, little head of hers. I knew she was thinking about me, and now it was only a matter of time. I smirked at the thought of Winter being mine, and how much fun we would have together, caused me to desire her even more. The morning came by sooner than expected. Sleep didn't want to take me, so I spend the cold night hunting. Of course, no one or anything could taste as delicious as Winter herself. Just her sweet scent made me thirsty and being in control of my lust was difficult. Dark grey clouds covered the sky. The sun never shone, and if it did. There was no way, I could go outside. The air was slowly nearing the coldest of cold. It didn't affect me like others. They would freeze and get sick. Me? I would appreciate it. Enjoy the chill, the breezing wind and the freezing. I hadn't been sick for as long as I could recall. I couldn't even recall being sick. Humans when they were sick, were the worst. So pathetic. Just the slightest flu and they think about death. If they really wanted to die, I would have a fairly, easy way, and they would please me as my thirst would disappear. Basically, a win-win, but I couldn't even if I craved to. Arriving back at the manor of mine, I walked up to the entrance. The dark, abandoned manor was lying on a steep hill. At the top, the town glowed from afar. The flickering lights from the cars, houses and stop signs were the reason it glowed as much as it did. I also had a clear view of the sky, and the clouds. The sound from the creaking door rang throughout the rooms. Everyone thought living alone sounded lonely, and boring even. I didn't think so. It's lovely. Not being in need of someone else. Having the whole territory to myself. Stepping further into my 'home' I arrived at my major staircase. The colours; black, dark grey and white, were the only colours used in the decoration. Too many colours had never really been my thing. The large, curved staircase took out a great part of all the area. The railing was curving as the staircase would go higher and create a turn to the right. Continuing up the black, large staircase, I enjoyed the thick silence. My footsteps and the creaking sound as my weight would make pressure on the steps were the loudest noises in the house. I stepped into my bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I stripped until I was nude. Looking at my own naked glory, my mind wandered over to Winter. The innocent, little girl. I imagined her standing here next to me, just as nude as I. Her short hair reaching her collarbone, would look as flawless as ever. She would look flawless. I ran my slender fingers through my black hair. My eyes roamed my body. Studying my own features, my mind then wandered over to my plan. Winter was mine, and Altin was an obstacle. Nevertheless, I dismissed the thought pretty quickly, seeing there was nothing to worry about. I stepped into the shower. The water was icy, but I didn't shiver as the cold, ice water raced down my back and shoulders. The water turned warm, and I felt my muscles relax. By now, I realised how tense I was. I finished the shower and now I needed to make an encounter with my dearest. Being outside in the cold again. I knew where Winter would be going. I knew when she would turn a corner, what street she would take after the last, and there she was. Walking with her bag over her shoulder. Her hair was messy from the wind, but I found it attractive. I put on my sunglasses and walked up to her. Winter didn't notice me as she glanced behind her back, but when she peered forward again. She let out a cute, girly yelp. Right then and there, I thought about the other ways to make her scream. "Oh, my god! I-I'm so sorry!" Winter said in shock, her eyes checking me out, and I tilted my head to the side. Winter looked up but then looked down, blushing crimson. I knew she thought about her steamy dream. "No need to apologise." I replied shortly "I should be the one to say sorry." She watched me again. Her features showed deep thought, over what I didn't know. "Well, I guess we're both sorry then." Winter chuckled at the end. The tone of her chuckle was like music to my ears. A noise I wanted to hear on a loop. Never wanting it to end. "I guess we are," I said with my lips tugging upwards for a small second "You're Winter, right?" I already knew her name, but a proper introduction would be in place. She blinked a few times before nodding. "Yes, and you're... Theo?" She asked with such uncertainty, and her voice weak. I gave her a tiny reassuring smile. "Indeed, I am." Suddenly a minor, icy breeze came by, and I got the full scent of her. My eyes darkened, I clenched my fists, and my knuckles turned white. "Are you okay? Uhm, Theo?" Winter took limited steps closer, and I knew, if she got any closer. There was no way I could control myself. I inhaled sharply and unclenched my fists. Winter had stopped walking, she stood frozen on the spot. She looked at me with an unreadable expression, but her heartbeat was uneven. The tension was thick in the air. Winter played with her hands and shifted her weight on her feet. Why she didn't walk away, shocked me greatly. There was a silence, there were no words mixed with each other because no one said anything. Until she broke it by saying. "Well, it was nice meeting you. Again." Her voice was quiet and delicate. I couldn't let her go, and I wouldn't. I heard her small footsteps as they were getting closer, and just as she was about to pass me. I grabbed her wrist gently which forced her to look up at me. "Will I be seeing you again?" I caused it to sound desperate, but maybe I was. Maybe, I didn't want to see her walk away from me. That would be the only thing I never wanted to happen. Winter's expression changed from confusion to shock. Her eyes went wide, and she shivered under my touch. My own expression was blank. "I-I- Uhm, yes." She stuttered as she tried to make out a sentence, and I noticed the small blush which crept up on her cheeks "I guess, you will." Winter smiled at me, showing her white teeth, and then she finally walked past me.
