“The first step in creating an alliance like this is an oath from both parties,” Grandmama told us. “You must both swear to come to each other's aid and help them when necessary.”
“I will go first.” I said, “I, Teresa Marianne Young, swear to never harm you or your family by choice. When in need I will come to your aid. I will treat you as if you were my own family.”
“I, Justine Lindsey Peters, swear that if any harm would come to your family, I will come to your aid. I shall never be the cause of that harm. I swear I will treat Teresa as my own daughter and her family as my own.” Mrs. Peters stated after me.
“Okay, now you must write out a formal document and cast a binding spell on it. The spell must be done by you, Teresa. You shouldn't worry though. It is one of our easiest spells.”
“Okay. If you say so.” I said a slight bit nervous.

About an hour later we had a document all typed up and printed off. Mrs. Peters and I had both signed it but now it was time for the binding spell.
“All you have to say is ‘Bind us to this document. Bind us to our word. If one breaks it let them die. If our bloodline dies then it shall be broken.’ It’s simple you’ll do fine.” My mom told me. I mean sure it sounded simple but it was still my first time casting on purpose.
“Okay,” I said and my mom called everyone to gather. “I will be performing the spell now. Everyone close your eyes and hold hands. Don’t let go no matter what. There will be magic flowing through us all and I don’t know if it’ll hurt or not but I do know that you break the bond while I’m casting you’ll die.”
I paused a bit to let it sink in before gesturing for everyone to hold hands so I could begin the spell. “Bind us to this document. Bind us to our word.” I could feel the magic flowing and I could see the pain on the face of the Peters. Guilt pierced my heart. “If one shall break it they shall die. If our bloodline ends then it shall be broken.” After speaking the last word a bright white light burst through the room surrounding us all and binding us to each other. The blinding light disappeared and I collapsed from exhaustion.
