Epilogue – 4 Years Later
The downtown skyline is always beautiful at night. The farther I go, the farther it stretches along highway, lit with hundreds of lights from high-rise buildings and bustling cars and the navy glow set on the horizon.
Joel got promoted to a manager two years ago and changed branches at the high-end restaurant he was working for, and he moved downtown with Ruth. She’s been searching for a career herself, reading a ton of books, taking a bunch of courses, but I think she’s happiest as a housewife. Especially with her hands full with George.
