We pull up to the guard booth outside of Blood Moon and stop waiting for permission to enter. I'm feeling a little nervous as we wait but I just chalk it up to nervous tension.
"What pack are you from and what is your name?" The guard asks as he steps onto our bus holding a clipboard with the list of packs coming to the ball.
"I am Elyse Black from Black Storm pack. I am one of Alpha Blacks daughter." I told the guard.
He stands there and gives me an odd look for far longer than I'm ok with. "Um, is everything ok? We should be in the list. My father got the invitation weeks ago." I ask him, completely uncomfortable with the attention now.
"Oh, oh I'm sorry I got distracted. Have we met before? I feel like I know you and you are someone important to me but I can't remember why?" he inquires of me.
"I don't think I have ever met you. I've never left my pack grounds before now. Maybe I just have one of those faces." I suggested to him.
"Yeah, maybe that's it. Well, everything is in order so y'all can proceed to the pack house and they will direct y'all from there! Enjoy your stay!"
I give him a little salute and put the bus in drive. We make our way through the small town leading to the pack house and I can't help but think about how cute it all is! I can't wait to explore this pack! There is something about this little place that feels like home. Which is really weird because even my pack doesn't feel like home to me.
We pull up to what I can only describe as a modern day Mansion! It is one of the largest houses I have ever seen in my life! It looks more like a hotel with it's size but the design is that of a beautiful plantation! This is what I love about living in the south! It is unlike any other place in the world! We are met outside the pack house by the head house keeper called Mrs. Daisy. She is married to the head grounds keeper, Mr. Sal. They seem like really nice people here at Blood Moon. We are put into a set of bunk houses near the pack house; one for females, one for males.
"Y'all unload and get settled in! We will have a welcome dinner at 7 PM for all our visitors! Until then, feel free to explore and make yourselves at home!" said Mrs. Daisy as she departs the bunk house. See what I mean about the sweetest!
"Elyse, do you want to go explore the town before the welcome dinner tonight?" asked my sister Elysabeth as she unpacked her bags for the week.
"Sure! I was wanting to go and look around there! It is so cute and inviting! What do y'all think the people are like here?" I feel a little intimidated already in this pack. I know I shouldn't but I've never really been out of my comfort zone like this before. I'm the Alphas daughter and was never allowed to leave the pack before.
"I heard the Alpha's kids are otherworldly beautiful! Some say they are part Fae. I hope one of them is my mate! I would just fall over dead!" Yep, my best friend and cousin Samantha is fangirling hard right now.
"How many kids does the Alpha and Luna have?" I feel like I should know this but for some reason I can't think straight right now. My Wolf, Emerald has been acting odd since we unloaded.
Em, you ok?
I think so but I'm not sure. I will let you know when I figure it out! Just go and explore and have fun.
And with that she blocked me out. Oh well, we will figure it all out later.
"They Alpha and Luna have 3 kids. The twins that are 21, Jaysen and Jordan and their younger sister, Jessica who is 17!" Sam gushes in fan girl. *eyeroll*
"I take it the twins are not mated with the way you are acting, Sam," I give her a smirk, "I'm not sure I want to be mated to an alpha. I've spent too much of my life being a disappointment to the alpha." Sure, maybe I'm a little bitter over this.
"Elyse, not every pack is like ours. Honestly, most packs aren't! In fact, Blood Moon has different types living here. Wolves, witches and from what I hear even a few fae! They are far more open minded than Black Storm!" Elysabeth calmly reassures me.
"Maybe, you are right. Let's go explore and meet some new people. I'm interested in a pack that's doing things the right way!" And with that we headed out the door.
