Episode 8__ Falling For The Enemy

The cold air rushed past them as they fell. Amara screamed instinctively and buried her face against Jason’s chest. Then— Splash! They landed hard in the mansion’s deep pool below. Water exploded around them. Jason immediately wrapped one arm around Amara and pulled her to the surface. “Breathe,” he said quickly. Amara coughed hard, gripping his shirt tightly as rain poured endlessly around them. Lights flashed from the balcony above. “They jumped!” “Find them!” Jason looked up once, then quickly pulled Amara toward the edge of the pool. “Hurry.” Both of them climbed out, soaked completely. Amara shivered violently. Jason removed his black jacket immediately and wrapped it around her shoulders without thinking. “You’ll freeze,” he muttered. Amara looked up at him in surprise. Even now… Even while running for his life… He was worried about her. Jason grabbed her hand again and led her through the back gate of the mansion into the forest behind the property. Branches scratched against their clothes as they ran deeper into the darkness. Finally, after several minutes, Jason stopped near a small abandoned cabin hidden between trees. Amara bent over slightly, breathing heavily. “I can’t… keep running…” Jason checked outside carefully before shutting the cabin door. Only then did silence return. No shouting. No footsteps. Just rain tapping softly against the roof. Amara wrapped his jacket tighter around herself. The cabin was tiny. One couch. One dusty table. One candle lamp. And now… just the two of them. Jason leaned against the wall, breathing harder than before. Amara frowned slightly. “Jason… are you hurt?” “I’m fine.” But his voice sounded strained. She stepped closer. “Show me.” Jason looked away. “It’s nothing.” Amara ignored him and gently grabbed his arm. The moment she pulled his sleeve slightly— Her eyes widened. Blood. A deep cut near his shoulder. “Jason!” “It’s not bad.” “You’re bleeding!” He gave a tired smirk. “That usually happens when people try to shoot you.” Amara stared at him for a second. Then unexpectedly— She laughed. A small laugh. Nervous and soft. Jason blinked slightly, surprised. “What?” “You joke at the weirdest times.” Jason stared at her quietly. Then something impossible happened. He smiled. A real smile. Small. But real. And Amara’s heart completely betrayed her. Because suddenly… The dangerous bad boy looked beautiful. The moment stretched between them. Warm. Soft. Dangerously intimate. Amara quickly looked away. “I need to clean the wound.” Jason sat down silently while she searched the small cabin for anything useful. Luckily, she found an old first aid box. She knelt in front of him carefully. “This might hurt.” Jason watched her quietly. “I’ve had worse.” Amara gently cleaned the blood from his shoulder. Jason didn’t flinch once. But his eyes never left her face. The silence between them became heavier with every second. Then softly— “You’re shaking,” Jason said. Amara paused. Only then did she realize her hands were trembling. “I’m scared,” she admitted quietly. Jason’s expression softened again. “You don’t have to be.” Amara looked up at him. “How can you say that after everything that’s happened tonight?” Jason stared at her for a long moment. Then slowly— He lifted his hand. And gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear again. The same way he did before. Soft. Careful. Like she was something fragile. “As long as I’m here,” he whispered, “nobody will hurt you.” Amara’s heartbeat became painfully loud. She should’ve moved away. She should’ve remembered he was dangerous. Complicated. Forbidden. Instead… She stayed. Jason’s eyes dropped briefly to her lips before returning to her eyes. The air shifted instantly. Neither of them spoke. Neither of them moved. But the tension between them became impossible to ignore. Then suddenly— Amara whispered the question haunting her heart. “Why does it feel like fate keeps pushing me toward you?” Jason’s jaw tightened slightly. “Because fate is cruel.” “And if I don’t care?” Silence. Heavy silence. Jason looked at her like he was fighting himself. Then quietly— “You should.” Amara shook her head slowly. “But I don’t.” Jason exhaled shakily. And before either of them could stop it— He pulled her gently closer. Amara’s breath caught. His forehead rested lightly against hers. So close. Too close. “You’re making this harder,” he whispered. Amara’s voice came out barely audible. “Maybe I don’t want easy.” Jason closed his eyes briefly like those words hurt him. Then suddenly— A loud c***k sounded outside the cabin. Both of them froze instantly. Jason stood up immediately, protective mode returning. Footsteps echoed outside. Someone had found them again. And this time… They weren’t alone.
