Everything happened so fast that if you blinked, you would have missed it. Mr. Whiskers jumped off my lap while I was still in the air. It seemed the sound startled him. I landed on the floor rather ungracefully.
When the door opened, Kian stepped inside the room in all his suit-clad glory. Seriously. It should be illegal for one person to look so good in a suit.
I didn’t have time to fix myself, so when he walked in, he saw me sprawled on the floor in a very uncomfortable position. He raised an eyebrow in question but said nothing as he walked further into the room.
He went to stand by the sliding door and opened it, letting fresh air filter into the room. Hands in his pockets and back turned to me, I gawked at him as I waited for him to say something.
