Kiara: "GET OUT!" My stepfather yelled kicking me out the second his son was born; I knew I was only there because he and my mother didn't have their own child and being a bastard one meant that I was a disgrace to her anyway. A disgrace she couldn't wait to get rid of. "Please!" I begged crying "where am I to go?" I asked, he literally threw me out the door making me fall on my knees scraping them, a few rocks making their way inside the torn skin. I looked up to find mother watching us from the window, her eyes cold as ice as she watched her daughter get thrown out of the house, her eyes met my own before she closed the blinds not wanting to look at me any longer than she already did. "It doesn't concern me child, you're lucky that I did not sell you to the kingdom's wolves" he snarled, he spat on me and slammed the door shut making me jump in fright at the sudden loudness. I cried and hugged my knees tightly flinching at the pain, blood coated my hands as I cried staying by the door in hopes that my mother would come for me, just for once I wanted to believe that she would talk some sense into him, to at least allow me to stay, but she never did. ************************* I walked around the cold streets limping as I took each step, I felt like my body was drained from everything having nowhere to go, I had no food, no money and nowhere to stay, and being a female in a world like this one was not the best option. "Hey!" I heard a male's voice from behind me making me jump and sprint away, though the scrapes and scratches on my knees did not help me as they ached with every step I took. I felt arms wrap around me stopping me from taking another step making me squirm in his grasp as I tried to get out of it, tears now falling freely from my eyes as I feared what was to come, I screamed and trashed trying to get away from the male but he wouldn't budge. "I won't hurt you" he whispered trying to calm me down, but I wasn't falling for it, he wanted to take advantage of me. "Let. Me. Go!" I said emphasizing my words as I felt my blood rush. "I promise I will, but we need to get you inside before the wolves see you" the male pleaded making me frown as my lips quivered in fear at the mention of the wolves who ruled our kingdom thus allowing the other wolves to live in it too. "You're going to hurt me" I said my tears falling from my eyes, to say I was frightened at that moment would've been an understatement. "I swear I won't" he said gently "I'm going to let you go, but I need to you to promise me that you won't run" his breath tickling my ear as he spoke. "Okay" I whispered knowing that I had no other option right now, the male let me go and I punched him in the gut making him double over before I took a step back and look at him preparing to run in case he decided to attack me. "Sh" he whispered, and I nodded though I was shaking, he stood behind me concealing me from whatever creature could be attacking us. It wasn't until minutes later that he relaxed and moved away from me helping me stand. "Come on" he said gently extending a hand for me to take. "Where are you taking me?" I asked looking at his hand as if it had ten fingers rather than five. "Do you have anywhere to go to?" He asked but I shook my head and he nodded smiling softly.  "What's your name?" He asked me. "Kiara, Kiara Anderson" I answered. "Coblet Adams" he introduced, and I nodded. "Where is your family?" He asked gently. "They kicked me out" I said looking at the ground and he nodded. "Well you can either stay here or join me and my friends" Coblet said running a hand through his curly black hair. "Your friends?" I asked confused. "Yes" he said his hand still extended in front of me, he looked at it then at me and I slowly took it and walked beside him as he guided me to an abandoned part of the city, it was by the forest. "Coblet!" We were met by a bunch of teenagers who smiled at cheered at the sight of their friend. They all seemed younger than he was none of them passing the age of fourteen whereas he looked fifteen, maybe sixteen. "Who's she?" One girl asked looking at me. Her name is Kiara" Coblet introduced "she'll be joining our family" he said softly, and I found myself blushing at his words. "Hi" the girl who asked smiled at me "I'm Abby" she introduced. "Jasmine" "Terri" "Caspian" "Elijah" This went on for a while as everyone introduced himself making me feel welcome. "You're hurt" Abby said wide eyed as her eyes caught my injured knees, the blood already covering my pant. "I'm fine" I took a step back in fear that she might hurt me, she smiled softly and raised her hands in surrender wanting me to calm down seeing how frightened I was, as she slowly walked over to me. Coblet tightened his grip on my hand in a comforting manner and I found myself flinching and wincing in pain when Abby touched the wound. "It's not deep, but there are small rocks inside that we need to get out before cleaning the wound" she said softly "can you let me help you?" I looked at Coblet who smiled and nodded encouraging me, taking a deep breath I nodded and followed her as she walked to a small tent. "Don't be scared, none of us will hurt you" Abby smiled softly. "Promise?" I asked and she smiled nodding. "Promise"
