Located in the village of Lower Tetney some 15 miles to the northwest of West Garside, Tetney Hall was described as a striking Grade II house with a symmetrical stone-built Georgian façade. The hall had been built by Sir Marcus Tetney, a local brewing magnate and a staunch supporter of the Whig party government of Prime Minister Robert Walpole. The hall had been passed down through generations of the Tetney family, until crippling death duties after the Second World War had forced the family to sell. The Hall eventually became the home of Helen Reason, founder and owner of the highly successful ‘Hair by Hélène’ franchising empire. Not that PC Jack Hobson gave a s**t about any of that. What the f**k was he doing out here anyway, out in the f*****g sticks, sent out on an errand boy mission?
