Chapter 4

“Where are you taking me to?” Val nervously asks them.

“We are bringing you to our big boss,” the man replied lazily, their sight are all focused on the road.

“Who’s your boss? What have I done to your boss and what does he want from me?!” She asks continuously but they did not replied to her instead they mind their own business. There are lots of people coming in her mind that could have done this to her but she can’t find any reasons why they will come up to this. She knew she have been a bit naughty but she remembers clearly that it was all a light prank and didn’t expected one of them will take it badly.

“I don’t remember doing something bad to anyone so why your boss wants me?” she hissed, she badly wants to get out from this situation to continue her plans and her life but she have no way out.

“Exactly! Our boss wants you,” the man on her left mentioned as all of them laugh at her.

“Wants me?” she repeats as she remembered the familiar statement she heard from a stranger last night. “What do they want from me?!” she freaks out. Her heart beats rapidly while the car is moving to their destination, she can’t be calm being with the person she didn’t know.

“You will know later,” the man replied. After a few minutes, they arrived to the place. The car door slides open as the men gets out of the car and escorted her out. “What are you waiting for? Get out!” the man screamed at her, Val’s heart jumps hearing his loud voice that freaks her out, her body were shaking; she didn’t know who can help her.

Val have no plan on going out but they warned them, “are you coming out or do you want us to drag you out of the car?!”

She didn’t want to get hurt by them and chose to get out from the car on her own, her eyes were scanning the surroundings as they escort them inside. She desperately wanted to shout for help but had no courage to do it because she is afraid to get shot anytime if she tries to do something that will alarm them.

All her fear had disappeared as soon as she stepped in the villa, her eyes are shining and a smile is slowly appearing in her face. “This villa looks familiar,” she says to herself while scanning the whole place.

They left Val in the living room and warns her not to escape or she will suffer from the consequences, she sat on the soft sofa and waited for the mastermind of her abduction. Her fear have disappeared and suddenly feels comfortable because of the ambiance of the villa, she knew that she will be safe.

She heard the door creaks open and didn’t bother to turn from behind to see who it was, she knew that the boss they are talking about arrived!

“It’s good to see you again!” she heard a familiar voice of a man from behind as his steps getting closer, closer, and closer.

She quickly turns her head to see the man’s image, Val drops her jaw as she rose to her feet and her eyes widen seeing his familiar look. She immediately change her reaction pretending she don’t remember him before he could even catch her.

“Wh—o are you? What do you want from me?!” she irritably asks although she knows exactly who he was and she vividly remembers what they have shared that night.

“It’s only 3 hours had passed and you already forget everything about me? It pains me. We spent all night being together and you easily forget me as if you never like what happened?” he smirks at her as he looks from her head to toe maliciously.

“What do you think you’re doing?!” she sarcastically asks him as she covers her chest with her hands.

“I am not doing anything but I know you enjoyed what happened last night, I can still hear your moan in my head,” he playfully teased her.

Val’s face turned to crimson as she remembers clearly what they did last night, she shifted her sight in different direction. “B-but it was just a mistake. We shouldn’t have to be like this, Mister. Let’s forget each other and move on, we’re adults after all,” she nervously mentioned thinking she can compromised.

Duke furrows his brows after hearing her statement, he didn’t like what he heard from her. He respect what he did last night and it was also his first; they both knew that they lost their virginity on the same night but she disappointed him for acting tough were he knows it was a very big deal to all the woman out there specially she’s also a lady.

“No. I don’t agree with you, miss. If you don’t want me to take the responsibility with you then take responsibility to me,” he frankly told her. Val w

“What’s the difference with your statement?” she rolls her eyes as she laughs at his request.

“I want you to take responsibility to what you did to me last night,” he confronts her with a cold face, staring intently into her deep brown monolid eyes as she keeps on blinking her eyes and slowly stops from laughing.

“A—are you serious?!” she muttered and saw him nodding at her query, “what kind of question is that? You’re not giving me any option…” she paused, looking away thinking on how she can pay him. She return her gaze at him and asks, “how can I take responsibility to you?”

“I want you to marry me,” he simply proposed.

Val’s eyes shifting to his sincere eyes to his serious face, she couldn’t know what to say and how she can start her statement on rejecting a powerful man like him without making him feel embarrassed. She is being cautious to hurt his pride or else he will haunt her life forever, everyone in this country knows he can do that and she just learned about it.

A slight smile flashed on her lips showing her attractive dimples on each side of her cheek, “I think there’s no need for us to do this, we should continue with our life without thinking about it,” she explained nicely.

“But I can’t stop thinking about it,” he admits making Val’s face turns red.

“To be honest, I didn’t want to hurt your feelings but I don’t think I can marry you because… I don’t love you.” She honestly informed him about her feelings, she wants to get out from his house but she knows his guards won’t let her off.

“I know it’s not that easy but I can wait just… marry me,” he sounded desperate this time. Val can’t deny that she felt something for him but she doesn’t want to ruin her plans because of this kind of feeling.

“No matter how long you wait… my feelings for you won’t change,” she whispered when an idea flashed in her mind. She looks into his eyes and stared in his lovable looks, “not bad.” She whispered and smiles after scanning his physique, she plans on accepting his proposal after realizing that he is the answer to her problems.

She can marry him without looking for the man whom she isn’t sure if he will marry her, it’s a win-win situation for her. Her eyes twinkled as she imagined getting rich after marrying this man and getting all she wants in her life without checking the price tag of the products she wants to buy without knowing that Duke has also reasons for pursuing her.

Val sophisticatedly sits on the couch, folding her legs, “are you serious about your proposal? Marriage is not easy as you think it was… You need to provide a lot for the family you are going to create.” She frankly mentioned.

“As you can see, miss. I have everything you need. I have money, power, company and you can have everything I have especially me,” he sits next to her moving his face closer to hers. His eyes was full of hope while staring into her eyes, he move his face an inch closer to her face and move until their lips met. Their eyes were shut tasting the sweetness of each other lips, he is sure this time that she is going to let her guard off and accept his proposal.

He cupped her cheek as he conquered her lips and slowly laid her on the couch but Val opens her eyes and pushes him away, “what do you think you are doing?” her voice raised as he questioned him and sit.

“You don’t have to pretend, miss. I know you like it too, if not you couldn’t have let it to happen,” he casually says.

“Huh?! I will not marry a highly conceited man like you!” She insisted.

“If you are not planning to marry me then why did you kisses me back?” Duke questioned her, he thought he can easily persuade her by doing that.

“I am simply returning what you give to me, fair and square,” she mumbled as she raised to her feet and was ready to leave.

“Wait…” Val paused from walking upon hearing him and turns her back to him, “if you are really serious on marrying me then why did you ask your men to kidnap me?” she irritably asks him, she saw how surprised he was learning about it.

“Do you really think I will make things easy for you? Huh, just wait.” She whispered.
