Chapter 6 Ransacked

1083 Words
Sandy sensed something was off and asked Penelope, "What do you need the police and bodyguards for?" The officer walked up to Sandy and said directly, "Based on the will, notarization, and property documents provided by Ms. Stein, the ownership of this house belongs to Penelope. You've been occupying her property, so it's time for you to pack up and leave." This was the final straw for Sandy, who exploded, "Do you have any shame? This house already belongs to Howard! Are you really that desperate? What, just out of prison and struggling? And now you're trying to steal from us?" Penelope smiled but said nothing, simply raising her hand. Soon, a group of people rushed in from outside, and began aggressively moving out the furniture. Penelope wasn't the least bit ashamed. In fact, everyone else in this house was more shameless than she could ever be. This house belonged to her mother, and she wouldn't give it to that ungrateful Howard, or to anyone else for that matter! She was taking it back. She was taking what was hers. She was going to be more ruthless, more shameless than they could ever imagine! ***** Meanwhile, Erica couldn't sit still any longer and quickly made a call. "Howard, if you don't come back now, Penelope's going to clean out the house!" After hanging up, Erica shot a provoking look at Penelope. "Just wait. When Howard gets back, he'll deal with you!" Deal with her? Penelope sneered. What an i***t. Didn't Erica know that Penelope had Tyron backing her now? Did she really think Howard could take her down? She couldn't wait to slap Howard in his face. "You're too loud. Get them out of here," Penelope said indifferently. "I don't want to talk to idiots." ***** Tyron's twelve bodyguards, all loaned to her, were guarding the premises. At that moment, a car drove into the courtyard. Howard got out and walked toward her, shouting, "Penelope! What do you think you're doing?" What was she doing? Hmph... "I'm throwing all of you out of my family's property," Penelope said with an amused tone. "Isn't that obvious? Are you blind or deaf? Didn't that dumb wife of yours tell you?" "Penelope! How dare you?! You don't belong here!" Howard tried to step forward but was blocked by the bodyguards. "Sorry, but I do belong here," Penelope said. "Your time here is up. Get lost." A second car pulled up into the yard. Tyron had arrived! "Tyron?" Howard asked in surprise. "What are you doing here?" The bodyguards stepped aside. Tyron walked up, took Penelope's hand, and said, "What's the matter? I'm just here to check on how my girlfriend's villa is being cleared. Any problems? The will regarding this place hasn't been settled yet, so no one's allowed to stay. You all need to leave." "Your... girlfriend?!" Howard exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock. "You're saying she's your girlfriend?!" 'That damned b***h!' Howard cursed in his mind. 'Damn it! How could she hook up with Tyron so quickly after just getting out of prison? b***h! She can't go a day without a man, can she?' "Yeah," Penelope answered. "You believed sending me into prison would leave me vulnerable after getting out, didn't you? You thought you could bully me whenever you pleased? You even secretly held a wedding, Howard. You should be thankful I was released early. I've got plenty of ways to get back at you. Just wait and see!" Penelope was about to say more when Tyron suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist. "We're almost done here," Tyron said, his tone calm. "Let's go. The trash has been cleared out. Don't waste your breath on people like that; they're not worth the effort." Tyron said, and with Penelope still in his arms, they left. "Penelope!" Howard called from behind. "How can you be with him?" Penelope laughed. "What, should I be with you? You want me to go back to someone who ruined my family? Are you the stupid one, or am I? When did you become so stupid?" Howard was furious, hopping on the spot. But Penelope didn't care at all, turning her back to him. Tyron glanced back at Howard thoughtfully, but without saying a word, he and Penelope walked off. ***** As the car drove away, Penelope lowered her head and said, "Thank you. My villa is cleared for now." "I like doing business with smart people," Tyron replied, making it clear that he saw this as a 'deal.' He had already investigated everything about her. Penelope didn't waste time and said directly, "Next, I need your help to deal with the people who had me imprisoned. To go after them, I need a background to back me up." Whether it was investigations, information, channels, or resources, it would take both time and money. So, in order for both of us to not be at a loss, and for things to go smoothly," Penelope continued, "how about we get married?" She knew exactly what Tyron was thinking. Penelope wasn't stupid. By offering it up herself, she knew he'd feel more secure. Tyron froze for a moment. He hadn't expected her to be even more direct, yet he played along with the suggestion. "Get married? You sure you're not trying to take advantage of me?" Penelope sighed. "Mr. Narsson, I'm serious!" "I know," Tyron responded, suddenly moving closer. His breath was audible as he spoke, "What better than a beautiful lady like you becoming my wife and business partner? Why not? Don't regret it, though." "I won't." Penelope pushed him away with a fake smile. "And from now on, don't get too close to me. It's a bad habit." Tyron wasn't bothered by her response. ***** That afternoon, Penelope handed him a contract. It was a standard contract for a marriage of convenience. The terms were clear: the relationship would be strictly contractual, and after two years, they would go their separate ways without interference. Penelope said, "Darling, I've signed it." Hearing her call him so intimately made Tyron visibly uncomfortable. He reminded her, "We're only in this for the contract. Getting married is just for your protection. Don't tell anyone we're actually married." "Got it!" Penelope replied smoothly. Then, she asked, "So, where are we going next?" Her mood shifted so quickly that Tyron couldn't shake the feeling that he was the one who had fallen into a trap. "Naturally, we're going to register the marriage," he said calmly.
