It was nice to lie in Jon’s arms that night when he’d switched camera duty with one of the other girls in the Contra, on the sofa, pretending just for a moment that we were a normal couple. There were only so many times that lying on the same patch of woodland ground time after time could be considered romantic.
It was at that moment when I realised that Jake hadn’t crossed my mind as much that day. I debated whether that was normal? Was this what happened when you had a rebound? Did it force you to redirect your original emotions and project new, more positive emotions? Is this why rebound relationships were considered to be faux?
