Aria’s hands shook as she pressed a clean cloth against Lucian’s side, trying to stop the bleeding. The deep gash ran across his abdomen, raw and vicious. His skin was pale, his breathing ragged, but his eyes… his eyes were still burning with that fierce determination.
“Stay still, Lucian,” she said, her voice trembling despite her best effort to sound calm. “You’re bleeding too much.”
“I’m fine,” he grunted, his voice strained. Typical Lucian,always acting like he was made of steel. But the way his fingers clenched the sheets told her he was barely holding it together.
“Fine?” she snapped, anger flaring in her chest. “You’re bleeding like crazy, and you think you’re fine?”
