Aditya returned to the office wearing the same clothes he had on yesterday—which had been soaking wet but were now dry. Inside his office, he was surprised to see his lawful wife, Shofi, there.
"Where have you been? Why didn't you come home last night?" she asked as she sat with her arms folded at the edge of the desk. It was very clear that the woman, who was younger than him, had been waiting for him for quite some time.
However, Aditya just remained silent. He walked around his wife while letting out an exasperated sigh. He placed his briefcase on the back of the chair.
"Honey, I'm talking to you..."
"You'd better leave here before I call security to drag you out," he said coldly to his wife.
Shofi let out a bitter and annoyed smile. "Do you think I'm a parasite, Honey?! I’m your legal Wife! Why is it that every time I come here, you always chase me away?!"
But once again, Aditya just stayed silent and busied himself looking for documents among the piles of papers on his desk.
"Honey, are you even listening to me?" Shofi touched Aditya's arm. However, she quickly pulled her hand away when the man suddenly stopped searching for the documents because he was truly disturbed. His sharp gaze now stared at Shofi coldly and menacingly. His look was threatening and full of warning.
As if she could read that gaze, Shofi immediately stepped back. She looked frightened. "I-I'm sorry, f-fine, I'll go." Frightened, she quickly hurried away from there.
And not long after Shofi's departure, Aditya was shocked by the sudden arrival of his father, who entered his office—escorted by three large-bodied bodyguards.
"Daddy?" Aditya, who had just sat down, immediately stood up. He looked afraid to see his father. The man walked firmly toward Aditya, then threw a stack of papers into his son's face, causing the sheets of paper to flutter in the air before scattering across the desk and the floor.
"Bored of being my son, are you?!" His name was Mr Ramjaya. "Where have you been this morning, hah?!" he asked with intense emotion. "Daddy entrusted this project to you, but you've ruined everything!" his scream suddenly exploded inside the room.
"I'm sorry, Daddy, I was—"
"Shut upppp!" he snapped, emphasizing his index finger in front of his son. "Daddy doesn't want to hear it, okay. You fix all of this today. Until you get the cooperation contract from Andiyata Company, you will face the consequences!"
"I arrived late, Daddy, and they were already gone. I tried to go to Andiyata Company, but Mr. Randu couldn't be reached. I also tried to call him, but he wants to cancel the cooperation."
"Well, that's because of your stupidity!" shouted Mr Ramjaya. "Daddy said from the very beginning that this project is very important! And this morning you didn't come to that meeting, then you suddenly disappeared, were difficult to reach, and made the Andiyata party angry because you wasted their time. Where is your brain?!" he exclaimed. "How are you going to replace Daddy if you have no responsibility like this?"
"Forgive me, Daddy. Last night, I ran into some trouble, so—"
"Daddy doesn't care about any of your excuses! Whether you have problems or meet with misfortune, Daddy doesn't care at all! The point is, you must get this cooperation contract. By any means necessary, whether you have to bow down at their feet or whatever it takes, you must get that cooperation contract! Do you understand?!" he shouted sharply.
"I understand, Daddy."
Mr Ramjaya stepped forward, approaching Aditya. Then he gripped his son's jaw, who now looked resigned and helpless before him. "Listen to Daddy carefully. Daddy has struggled tooth and nail to build this company's good reputation. Don't you ever cause any problems that could tarnish the name of this company or our extended family. Daddy would rather lose you than have you tarnish Daddy's family name! So don't you dare make an unforgivable mistake!" he said, roughly patting his son's cheek before storming out of there, slamming the door very hard.
"Arghhhhhh! Shittt!" Aditya screamed while throwing whatever was on his desk to vent his emotions. Last night, he had tried to escape but couldn't. The villagers had hidden his car keys, while he was locked up in the village hall and guarded by several neighborhood security officers. He really couldn't run away. He was only allowed to leave after the marriage contract this morning. Wasn't that just damn unlucky?! Because of his secretary, he had to experience this misfortune. "This is all Merliana's fault. She has to compensate me for all the losses I've suffered!" Then his fist slammed against the desk.
