Lincoln POV I stood there watching, unable to look away as the female shifted right in front of me. It wasn’t a clean shift either, her bones cracked sharply, her spine twisted, and her form shrank in swift, painful motions. Then, just like that, fur melted away and blond hair spilled loose across her shoulders, long and tangled. Her skin was so pale it looked untouched by sunlight, almost glowing in the dark. She hugged herself immediately, crossing her trembling arms over her chest as she crouched low and tried to make herself smaller. For a moment, I forgot to breathe.
