Part 1: The Lie*
Inaya was in the kitchen, making tea.
Her phone buzzed. Rayan.
She smiled and answered. "Yes?"
"Inaya," Rayan’s voice was tight. Stressed. "I need you to pack a bag. Both formal and casual."
Inaya frowned, stirring the tea. "Why?"
"I have a very important meeting in Dubai," Rayan said. "Investors. A $2 Billion deal. Tomorrow morning at 9. I need you there. For the notes."
Inaya’s heart sank. "Today? Rayan, what about our weekend plans—"
"We’ll have to cancel them," Rayan cut her off. He sounded genuinely upset. "I’m sorry, baby. The flight is at 11 PM. Private jet. We need to leave in 30 minutes."
Inaya sighed. "Okay. Fine. I’ll pack."
"Thank you," Rayan said softly. "I love you. I’m coming home."
The call ended.
Inaya looked at the tea. Her weekend with Rayan. Movie night. Cooking together. All gone.
She went to the bedroom and started packing. 2 gowns. 2 business suits. Heels.
30 minutes later, Rayan came home.
He looked exhausted. Tie loosened. Like he hadn’t slept.
"Ready?" he asked, kissing her forehead quickly.
Inaya nodded. "Yeah. How many days?"
"2 days," Rayan said. "Maximum."
They got in the car. The driver took them to the airport.
The whole ride, Rayan was on calls. "Send me the deck." "Reschedule that." "Tell them I’ll be there."
Inaya sat quietly, looking out the window.
Her CEO husband. Always working.
#### *Part 2: The Truth on the Jet*
The jet was beautiful. All white and gold.
Inaya sat by the window, laptop open, trying to prepare for a meeting she knew nothing about.
Rayan sat across from her. Still on his phone.
An hour into the flight, Rayan finally put his phone down.
"Tired?" he asked.
Inaya shook her head. "No. Just... a little nervous. I won’t be able to handle the presentation, Rayan."
Rayan stared at her for a long second.
Then he smiled. A real smile. The first one all day.
"Inaya," he said. "Close the laptop."
Inaya blinked. "Why?"
"Close it," Rayan repeated, standing up. He walked to her and closed her laptop himself.
Then he sat beside her. Took her hand.
"There is no meeting," Rayan said quietly.
Inaya froze. "What?"
Rayan looked guilty. And nervous. And so handsome it hurt.
"There is no $2 Billion deal. No investors. No 9 AM presentation."
Inaya’s mouth opened. "Rayan... you lied?"
"Yes," Rayan admitted. He ran a hand through his hair. "I lied."
Inaya pulled her hand back. "Why?"
Rayan caught her hand again. Held it tight. "Because I miss you. Because for the last 3 weeks it’s been boardrooms and Adil and deals and galas. Because I haven’t had you to myself. Not really."
Inaya’s anger melted.
Rayan continued, his voice low. "I miss waking up next to you and not checking emails. I miss cooking with you. I miss... us. Just us."
He looked out the window. Stars everywhere.
"So I booked this jet. I booked us a villa in Maldives. Private beach. No staff. No meetings. No Adil. No board. Just you and me. 2 days."
Inaya’s eyes filled with tears. "You... you lied to get me here?"
Rayan turned to her, panicked now. "I know it was wrong. I’m sorry. You can be mad. Yell at me. But please don’t say no. Please come with me."
Inaya looked at him. This powerful CEO who moved billions, looking scared of her saying no.
She took a deep breath. Then she laughed.
A small, wet laugh.
"You’re crazy," she said, hitting his arm. "You scared me."
Rayan exhaled like he’d been holding his breath for hours. "So... you’re not mad?"
Inaya leaned her head on his shoulder. "I’m mad. But I’m also happy. Because you wanted me. Only me."
Rayan wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into his lap right there on the jet.
"I wanted my wife," he whispered into her hair. "No meeting. Only you."
#### *Part 3: Maldives - Just Us*
They landed at sunrise.
White sand. Blue water. One villa on stilts. No one else.
Inaya walked out barefoot. The water was warm.
Rayan came up behind her and hugged her.
"Told you," he murmured. "No one. Just us."
For 2 days, it was heaven.
*Morning:* Breakfast in bed. Rayan feeding her fruit.
*Afternoon:* Swimming. Rayan chasing her in the water and catching her.
*Evening:* Sitting on the deck, watching the sunset. Rayan’s arm around her.
No phones. Rayan had turned his off.
On the second night, they sat on the beach. Bonfire.
Rayan was drawing circles on Inaya’s palm.
"Thank you," he said suddenly.
Inaya looked at him. "For what?"
"For coming," Rayan said. "For not leaving me even when I’m crazy and possessive and lie to get you on a jet."
Inaya smiled. "I would follow you anywhere, Rayan. Even if you lied."
Rayan laughed and pulled her down to lie on the sand with him.
Stars above them.
"I love you, Mrs. Khan," Rayan whispered.
"I love you too, Mr. Khan," Inaya whispered back.
Rayan rolled to his side and propped himself on one elbow. He looked at her like she was the only thing in the universe.
"Can I tell you something?" he asked.
"Hmm?"
"When I said 'no meeting, only you'... I meant it. For the rest of our lives. I don’t want meetings without you. I don’t want success without you. I don’t want anything without you."
Inaya’s heart felt full. Too full.
"Then you’ll always have me," she said.
Rayan leaned down and kissed her.
Soft. Slow. Like a promise.
The waves crashed. The fire crackled.
And Rayan Khan, who owned half the city, felt like the richest man alive.
Because he had her ..
Inaya was asleep on Rayan’s chest.
Rayan carried her to bed.
Before sleeping, he whispered in her ear:
"Next time I say 'important meeting'... it’ll probably be another lie to get you alone."
Inaya, half asleep, smiled. "I know. And I’ll still come."
Rayan kissed her and turned off the light.
"Mine," he whispered one last time.
"Only mine."
