Kamalaya Tower. 9:00 AM.
A glass monolith. 50 floors of power.
Everyone in the city knew who owned it.
The black Rolls Royce pulled up to the entrance.
The driver opened the door.
Rayan stepped out first. Black three-piece suit. Black sunglasses. Face: unreadable.
CEO mode activated.
Thirty seconds later, Inaya stepped out from the other side. Cream formal suit. Hair in a sleek bun. A stack of files in her arms. PA mode.
They did not walk together.
They did not speak.
Two feet of distance between them. Professional. Perfect.
The lobby had over 200 employees waiting.
The whispers started immediately.
_"Who’s that?"_
_"New PA?"_
_"She’s beautiful."_
_"Did the CEO hire her personally?"_
Rayan stopped in the center of the lobby.
The entire building fell silent.
He took off his sunglasses slowly.
*"Attention."*
His voice cut through the air. Cold. Absolute.
*"This is Inaya Khan."*
A beat.
*"My Personal Assistant. And..."*
His eyes found Inaya’s across the lobby. For the first time that morning.
Dark. Intense. Possessive.
*"...my wife."*
BOOM.
The lobby erupted.
Gasps. Phones lifted. Videos recording.
_"Wife??"_
_"Since when??"_
Inaya kept her expression neutral. But her heart was pounding so hard she thought everyone could hear it.
Rayan walked to her. Stopped one foot away.
Still cold. Still distant.
*"From today, Mrs. Khan will handle all my schedules. No one meets me without her approval. No one speaks to her without speaking to me first."*
He turned to the HR Head.
*"Her office is next to mine. Clear it. Now."*
*"Yes, sir."*
Rayan glanced at Inaya one last time.
Zero emotion.
*"Conference room. Five minutes."*
He walked away.
Inaya stood there. Two hundred pairs of eyes on her.
_Mrs. Khan._
_Wife._
Her hands trembled.
She lifted her chin. And followed him.
---
*Inside the Elevator. Alone.*
The doors slid shut.
One second of silence.
Rayan’s mask shattered.
He turned. Grabbed her wrist. Pulled her to him.
*"You okay?"* His voice was low. Only for her.
Inaya nodded. Her eyes were wet.
Rayan cupped her face. Forehead to forehead.
*"Fifteen years, Inaya. I waited fifteen years to say that name in public."*
He pressed a hard, possessive kiss to her forehead.
*"Now the whole world knows you’re mine. No one can touch you."*
Ding.
Floor 50.
Rayan stepped back instantly. The CEO returned.
*"Conference room, Mrs. Khan."*
Inaya wiped her eyes. Straightened her spine.
*"Yes, Mr. Khan."*
The game had begun.
---
*Conference Room. 10:00 AM*
The biggest deal of Kamalaya Group’s history.
"The AURA Project." Rayan’s dream project. 15 years in the making.
Investors from 6 countries. Board members. Lawyers.
Rayan presented. Cold. Ruthless. Brilliant.
Inaya sat beside him. Taking notes. Handing him files before he asked. Anticipating every question.
Three hours later.
The lead investor stood.
*"Mr. Khan. The board approves. $2.4 Billion. The AURA Project is yours."*
Silence.
Then applause.
Rayan didn’t smile.
*"Thank you. We start Monday."*
Meeting ended.
As everyone filed out, Inaya gathered the files. Her hands were shaking.
Rayan leaned close. Voice barely above a whisper.
*"We did it."*
Inaya looked up.
For one second, both of them smiled. Small. Real.
Then the door opened.
The mask was back on.
---
*Kamalaya Mansion. 9:00 PM*
The moment the bedroom door closed behind them—
Rayan kicked off his shoes.
*"Lock the door."*
Inaya did.
He turned. And for the first time all day, he grinned. A real, wide, victorious grin.
*"We did it, Mrs. Khan."*
He crossed the room in two steps and pulled her into a tight hug. Lifting her off the ground.
Inaya laughed. Actually laughed.
*"The AURA Project! Rayan, it’s approved!"*
*"I know."* He set her down. But didn’t let go. *"Fifteen years. My dream. And you were there for all of it."*
He looked at her. Proud. Happy. In love.
Then he kissed her.
Not soft. Not slow.
A victory kiss. Celebrating. Claiming. Fifteen years of waiting pouring into one moment.
When they broke apart, both were breathless.
Rayan rested his forehead against hers.
*"This is the biggest day of my life. And I want to celebrate it with you. Only you."*
Inaya smiled through tears.
*"Then let’s celebrate."*
The lights dimmed.
The world outside disappeared.
Tonight, there was no CEO. No PA.
Just a husband and wife.
Celebrating a victory 15 years in the making.
The moment the bedroom door closed, the outside world seemed to disappear.
Inaya slipped off her heels and placed them aside before looking at Rayan with a soft smile.
“We did it…” Excitement sparkled in her eyes. “Our dream project.”
Rayan didn’t answer.
He simply stared at her.
He wore the same cold expression he showed the world—but Inaya knew there was something else hidden behind those eyes.
“Rayan?”
He slowly walked toward her.
“Shouldn’t we celebrate?” His voice was low.
Inaya let out a nervous little laugh. “We should…”
“Then why are you standing so far away?”
She didn’t answer.
Rayan stopped right in front of her. Inaya’s gaze instinctively dropped.
“Do you still get shy around me?”
In a quiet voice, she admitted, “When you look at me like that… yes.”
A faint smile touched Rayan’s lips.
“Like what?”
Inaya hesitated before looking into his eyes.
“Like… I belong to you.”
Silence settled between them.
Then Rayan gently took her hand.
“You do.”
The certainty in his voice made Inaya’s heart skip.
He pressed a slow, tender kiss to her forehead.
“Congratulations, Mrs. Rayan.”
Her cheeks immediately turned pink.
“Congratulations, Mr. Rayan.”
“That’s it?”
Inaya blinked. “What?”
“Is that all the celebration I get?”
A shy sparkle appeared in her eyes.
“You tell me… how should we celebrate?”
Rayan leaned closer and whispered,
“Whatever happens between us… is more than enough of a celebration.”
There was no trace of Rayan’s usual coldness in his eyes now.
The way he looked at her made Inaya’s heartbeat suddenly quicken.
“Rayan…”
“Hmm?”
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
He took one step toward her.
“Because tonight, for the first time,” he said quietly, “I feel like I can celebrate my happiness with you… without caring about the rest of the world.”
Inaya’s breath caught.
Rayan took her hand and gently pulled her closer.
She found herself against his chest.
“You’re blushing.”
“Because of you.”
“Good.”
“Good?”
“Very.”
Inaya shyly tapped his chest.
“You’re so annoying.”
Rayan smiled before gently cupping her face in both hands.
This time, his kiss was deeper than before—slow and deliberate, as though he wanted to say everything they had kept hidden between them.
Inaya’s fingers instinctively curled into his shirt.
When Rayan finally pulled back, both of them were breathing a little faster.
“Still shy?” he teased.
Inaya lowered her gaze.
“Very.”
Rayan gently lifted her chin.
“Then tonight, I’m going to tease that shyness a little more.”
A nervous smile appeared on Inaya’s lips.
Rayan reached over and dimmed the lights.
The glow of the city spilled through the window, while inside the room, their quiet laughter, whispered words, and growing closeness filled the silence.
The distance they showed the world had always been an act.
Behind closed doors, they were simply husband and wife—two people who had finally allowed themselves to celebrate something that belonged only to them.
For fifteen years, they had waited.
Fifteen years of stolen glances, unspoken feelings, forced distance, and pretending that the other person meant nothing.
Tonight, something finally broke.
The moment Rayan pulled Inaya into his arms, she buried her face against his chest, her fingers gripping the fabric of his shirt as though she was afraid he might disappear again.
“Fifteen years…” she whispered, her voice trembling. “Do you know how long that felt?”
Rayan’s arms tightened around her.
“Every single day.”
She looked up.
Their eyes met.
And whatever restraint they had left disappeared.
Rayan kissed her.
Not gently this time.
It was desperate—years of everything they had refused to say poured into one breathless moment. Inaya froze for half a second before wrapping her arms around his neck and returning the kiss with all the feelings she had kept locked away.
When they finally separated, neither of them moved far.
Their foreheads rested together.
“I hated pretending I didn't love you,” Inaya whispered.
Rayan closed his eyes.
“I hated pretending even more.”
He pulled her into another tight embrace, holding her as though fifteen years of distance could be erased simply by keeping her close enough.
Inaya laughed softly through the tears gathering in her eyes.
“You're not letting me go, are you?”
“Never.”
He pressed a series of lingering kisses against her forehead and cheeks, then paused when he noticed how flushed she had become.
“You're still shy.”
“I'm trying not to be.”
“Don't.”
A tiny smile appeared on his lips.
“I like you exactly like this.”
Inaya hid her face against his shoulder.
Rayan laughed quietly and held her closer.
For the first time, there was no pretending.
No coldness.
No distance.
No carefully guarded emotions.
Just Rayan and Inaya, finally allowing themselves to feel everything they had spent fifteen years trying to bury.
And somehow, after waiting that long, neither of them wanted the night to end.
