Chapter 5 : The Success Party

2185 Words
The chandelier in the penthouse living room was glowing like liquid gold. Outside, Lahore’s night glittered. Inside, the scent of jasmine and expensive cologne filled the air. Tonight was not just a party. Tonight, Kamalaya Group had officially signed the $2 Billion “AURA” project. The biggest deal in the company’s history. And Rayan Khan was celebrating it. At home. With her. --- #### *1 Hour Before The Party* Inaya stood in front of the full-length mirror, her heart pounding so loud she was sure Rayan could hear it from the bathroom. Her dress. Deep red. Silk. It clung to her like a second skin. The front was modest. Elegant. But the back… The back had nothing but thin, delicate straps. One across her shoulders. One lower, right above the curve of her waist. Her entire back was bare. She had bought it weeks ago. On impulse. Thinking she would never wear it. But tonight felt different. Tonight, she wanted to feel beautiful. For him. Her fingers trembled as she tried to tie the last strap. It was just out of reach. “Rayan?” Her voice came out softer than she intended. “Can you… can you help me for a second?” The bathroom door opened with a soft click. Steam rolled out. And then he was there. Rayan. Water was still dripping from his hair, down his neck, down his bare chest. A white towel was slung low on his waist. That was it. His hair was messy. His jaw was sharp. And his eyes… his eyes were dark. They landed on her. On the red silk. On her bare back. For three whole seconds, he didn’t speak. Inaya saw it all in the mirror. Saw the way his throat bobbed. Saw the way his jaw clenched. She immediately felt heat crawl up her neck. “I… I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were—” “Don’t move,” Rayan said. His voice was low. Rough. He stepped closer. Bare feet on marble. Inaya could smell him. Soap. Him. His hands came up, careful. His fingers brushed her bare back as he reached for the strap. Inaya sucked in a breath. Goosebumps exploded across her skin. Rayan paused. Through the mirror, she watched him. His eyes were fixed on the spot where his fingers touched her. Then, before she could think, before she could breathe— His lips touched her bare back. Right between the straps. Soft. Warm. It wasn’t a long kiss. It was barely there. But Inaya’s knees almost gave out. “Rayan—” she whispered. He didn’t answer. He just finished tying the strap. His knuckles lingered for half a second too long. Then he turned her around. Slowly. Now they were face to face. He was still only in a towel. She was in red silk. And the air between them was thick. Rayan cupped her face in both hands. His thumbs brushed her cheeks. “You look…” He exhaled. “You look like sin, Inaya.” Her face burned. “Don’t say that.” “Why?” His mouth quirked. “It’s the truth.” Before she could reply, he pulled her in. The kiss wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t desperate. It was deep. Claiming. Like he had been holding it in all day and now he didn’t care who was coming in 20 minutes. One hand went to her waist, pulling her flush against him. The other stayed on her jaw, anchoring her. Inaya’s hands came up and fisted in the towel at his chest, just to steady herself. When he finally pulled back, both of them were breathing hard. Rayan rested his forehead against hers. “I love you, Mrs. Rayan,” he murmured, right into her ear. His voice was rough, possessive, and so soft it broke her. Inaya closed her eyes. Her heart felt too full. “Get dressed,” she whispered back, smiling against his lips. “Guests are coming.” Rayan chuckled and kissed her temple. “You’re the one distracting me.” --- #### *The Party* By 8 PM, the penthouse was alive. Soft music. Waiters with champagne. The city lights behind the glass walls. Kamalaya’s board members. Two ministers. Rayan’s uncle. His childhood friend from Dubai. And Inaya. She moved through the crowd like she belonged there. Because she did. The red dress was turning heads. But it wasn’t just the dress. It was the way she carried herself. Calm. Graceful. Rayan’s wife. “Mrs. Khan, congratulations,” an older businessman said, raising his glass. “This deal is historic.” “Thank you,” Inaya smiled. “It’s all because of Mr. Khan’s vision.” “Modest too,” the man laughed. “Rayan is a lucky man.” Across the room, Rayan heard it. He was in a black three-piece suit now. No tie. Top button open. He was supposed to be talking to the Finance Minister. But his eyes hadn’t left Inaya for more than 10 seconds. She looked like she owned the room. And she owned him. When it was time for the toast, Rayan tapped his glass. The room quieted. “Thank you all for coming,” he said. His voice was steady, CEO mode. “The AURA project is a milestone. But milestones mean nothing without the people behind them.” He paused. Then he looked straight at Inaya. “This company wouldn’t be here without her. She’s not just my PA. She’s not just my advisor.” He walked to her. Took her hand in front of everyone. “She’s my wife.” The room erupted in applause. Inaya’s eyes stung. She hadn’t expected him to say it. Not like that. Not so publicly. Rayan leaned down and kissed her knuckles. “Proud of you,” he whispered, just for her. Later, when the cake was cut, when photos were taken, when the last guest finally left at midnight… It was just them again. --- #### *After The Party* The silence felt loud. Inaya was slipping off her heels when she felt arms wrap around her waist from behind. Rayan. He buried his face in her neck. “Best night of my life,” he murmured. “Mine too,” she whispered. He turned her around. His suit jacket was gone. His sleeves rolled up. “Do you know what you did to me tonight?” he asked. His eyes were dark again, but not with anger. With something softer. “What?” “You made me proud. In front of everyone.” He brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “I’ve won deals before. But tonight, winning you… that felt bigger.” Inaya smiled, tears threatening again. “Cheesy CEO.” “Guilty.” He laughed and pulled her into a hug. A real one. Tight. Safe. “I love you, Inaya,” he said into her hair. “Thank you for being here. For being mine.” She melted into him. “I’m not going anywhere, Rayan.” They stood like that for a long time. The city quiet outside. The party lights off. Just them. And for the first time in a long time, everything felt… right..... *H.T OBSIDIAN* Aa gayi Part 2 🔥❤️ Chalo ab jealousy ka seed bo dete hain… phir Chapter 7 me phal lagega 😏 --- ### *Chapter 6: The Success Party - Part 2* The house was finally quiet. Waiters had left. The glasses were cleared. Only the faint smell of jasmine and the city lights remained. Inaya was in the kitchen, making tea. Her red dress was still on, but she had let her hair down. It fell in soft waves over her bare back. She could feel Rayan watching her from the doorway. “You didn’t have to clean up,” he said. Inaya turned and smiled. “Old habits. I was your PA first, remember?” Rayan walked in. He had changed into black sweatpants and a white shirt. Sleeves rolled. Hair still damp. He leaned against the counter and just… looked at her. “You were stunning tonight,” he said quietly. Inaya blushed. “Stop. You’re making me shy.” “I’m not done yet.” He took the mug from her hand and set it down. Then he pulled her close. “You walked in there like you owned Kamalaya. Like you owned me.” “Did I?” she whispered. “Yes.” His hand came up to her cheek. “And I loved every second of it.” He kissed her forehead. Then her nose. Then her lips. Soft. Slow. Like he had all the time in the world. For a moment, the world was just them.... The Next Morning - Kamalaya Office* The AURA deal was all over the news. “KAMALAYA GROUP SIGNS 2 BILLION DEAL” Rayan was in meetings back to back. But he made sure Inaya was in every single one. “From now on, she sits beside me,” he had told his secretary. No explanation. By 11 AM, Inaya was sitting in the 42nd floor boardroom, taking notes, when the door opened. “Mr. Rayan, Mr. Adil Rehman from Vertex Holdings is here for the 11:30.” Adil Rehman. Mid 30s. Dubai educated. CEO of a rival firm that had also been bidding for AURA. And lost. He walked in with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. Designer suit. Expensive watch. “Rayan! Congratulations, man,” Adil said, shaking Rayan’s hand. Then his eyes slid to Inaya. And stayed there. “You must be Mrs. Khan,” Adil said, extending his hand. “I saw the photos from last night. That red dress? Stunning. You completely outshined the event.” Inaya shook his hand politely. “Thank you, Mr. Rehman.” Rayan didn’t shake his hand back immediately. His jaw ticked. Once. “Adil,” Rayan said, his voice dangerously calm. “This is my wife. Inaya Khan. And she’s also the Head of Strategy for Kamalaya.” The emphasis on _my wife_ was not subtle. Adil’s smile faltered for half a second. “Head of Strategy? Wow. Talented _and_ beautiful. Rayan, you really did win the jackpot.” The meeting started. But Rayan wasn’t focused. Every time Adil spoke to Inaya, Rayan cut in. Every time Adil’s eyes lingered, Rayan’s hand found Inaya’s under the table and squeezed. When the meeting ended, Adil walked Inaya to the door. “It was a pleasure, Mrs. Khan. Maybe we can discuss marketing for AURA over coffee sometime? I have some ideas—” “No,” Rayan said. The room went silent. Rayan stood up. Hands in pockets. Expression unreadable. “She doesn’t do coffee with other men, Adil. Especially not competitors. Meeting over.” Adil laughed awkwardly. “Right. Possessive husband. Got it.” He left. The door closed. Inaya turned to Rayan. “You didn’t have to do that.” Rayan walked to her. Cupped her face. “Yes, I did.” His thumb brushed her cheek. “Because last night, in that red dress, every man in that room was thinking about you. And I hated it.” Inaya’s heart squeezed. “Rayan…” “I don’t like sharing you,” he whispered. “Not your smile. Not your time. Not even a coffee.” He kissed her. Right there in the boardroom. With the glass walls and the whole city watching. Possessive. Claiming. When he pulled back, he rested his forehead on hers. “Mine,” he murmured. “Only mine.” Inaya exhaled. Her cheeks were red. “You’re impossible.” “And you love me anyway,” Rayan grinned, that rare, real smile. “I do,” she said. “Stupid, jealous CEO.” “Your stupid, jealous CEO,” he corrected, and kissed her again. --- #### *Later That Night - Home* Inaya was curled on the couch, laptop open, working on AURA’s launch plan. Rayan came and sat behind her. Pulled her between his legs. Wrapped his arms around her. “What are you doing?” he asked, kissing her shoulder. “Work,” Inaya said. “Someone has to make sure your 2 billion deal doesn’t flop.” Rayan chuckled and took the laptop from her. Closed it. “No work tonight. Tonight, you rest.” “Rayan—” He turned her around to face him. “Thank you. For last night. For today. For putting up with me.” Inaya smiled and traced his jaw. “I don’t mind. Even the jealous parts.” “Good.” He pulled her into his lap. “Because there’s going to be a lot more of that.” She laughed and hit his chest lightly. Rayan caught her hand and kissed her knuckles. One by one. “I love you, Mrs. Rayan,” he said again. Like he couldn’t say it enough. “I love you too, Mr. Khan,” Inaya whispered back. Outside, Lahore slept. Inside, in Rayan’s arms, Inaya finally felt home.
