Chapter 19

Tyon woke up first and smiled. He wanted Amauri and Alden to be the first thing he would see every morning from then on. To him, this was the biggest blessing he could ask for. Amauri soon woke up after and started fidgeting. Tyon, who had his arm around him tapped his side to make him stop moving and seeing that his mommy was still sleeping Amauri understood and did his best not to wake Alden up when he left for the bathroom. Tyon was therefore left alone with Alden. Feeling cold on the side where Amauri had been laying all night, Alden shuttered and turned around to hug Tyon against him completely. Tyon immediately froze, feeling his blood freeze too. He didn’t dare move or even breathe, feeling the young man’s body against his. He feared that even his heartbeat was too loud and would wake him up. Having changed postures, Alden quickly woke up and at first he didn’t understand what was in front of him. He stared at Tyon’s chest for a few seconds when he suddenly felt the hands around his waist and looked up. Tyon, who had been staring at Alden smiled shyly. Seeing him from up close, Alden frowned. When did he end up in his arms? He finally remembered the event from last night and turned around to see where Amauri was. Tyon let go of Alden against his will still staring. “Where is Amauri?” Alden was so adorable with his eyes still sleepy that Tyon wanted to eat him up whole. He was so lost in his fantasies that he didn’t hear Alden talk on the first try. “Hey. Where is Amauri?” Tyon did his best to get it together and cleared his throat: “He went to the bathroom. -When? -A few minutes ago. -How long have you been awake?” Tyon would never lie to Alden so he said: “A few hours.” Alden froze. “Why didn’t you wake me up? Or leave silently? -I didn’t see time pass. -You are so weird.” Amauri came back and hugged his mommy when he saw him awake: “Mommy! How are you feeling? -I am perfectly fine.” Alden didn’t get sick just as he said he wouldn’t and the mansion started to calm down. Now that he had slept so much, Alden had a lot of energy and usually when it was the case, he needed to do something with his hands. In those times he would cook something, repair something, build something… He just needed to do something with his hands and Alden started thinking about what he could do when he looked at Amauri playing outside and it hit him. “Amauri! -Yes? -Do you want a treehouse? -Yes!” Both of them got very excited and asked for Amauri’s help, Alden got to work. They found a promising tree, made a list of what they needed and with Earl they started looking for all of this. They didn’t have to buy anything and soon could start building. The treehouse was harder to make than they thought and once again, the two of them didn’t show up for lunch. Tyon felt his blood boil thinking about Alden getting sick again but when he found them this time, it was happy faces that he saw and he approached curious about what they were doing. Both Amauri and Alden were very proud of their work and told Tyon all about it with sparkling eyes. Tyon really wanted to be part of such happy memories and proposed his help. At first Alden assured them that they didn’t need help but Tyon was stubborn and they had to let him help too. After an hour of hard work, they still had a lot to do but Tyon wanted them to take a break to eat something. He then brought sandwiches and they all sat down at a table to eat before getting back to work. Throughout the process, Earl, Amauri and Tyon would all ask Alden if he was cold from time to time. At the end of the day, the treehouse was done and Alden decided to add some lights to decorate the whole. Amauri was ecstatic and told his mommy that this was the best gift he ever got while kissing Alden again and again. He thanked Alden hundreds of time and Alden knew he did something good. Having this gorgeous treehouse, Alden proposed to watch the stars in it which they could because the tree had already lost most of its leaves. Tyon brought blankets and Alden brought warm chocolate before they climbed up and sat down in the treehouse. The temperature dropped during the night and Alden told Amauri to sit between his legs under the same blanket as him. Tyon wouldn’t let the child beat him and asked if he could also come under their blanket. Alden accepted because having another person’s body warmth was a smart decision. The next second Alden was sitting against Tyon’s chest feeling his arms wrap around him and Amauri’s bodies. Alden felt a bit weird being this close to Tyon but he didn’t say anything and soon forgot about it looking at the stars. Alden loved stars and because of this he taught Amauri all of the constellations he knew. Wanting his mommy to be proud of him, Amauri started telling everything he knew about the constellations. Alden was really proud of his child and complimented him for how smart he was from time to time. Seeing this peaceful atmosphere, Tyon took upon himself and said: “You are really smart, Amauri.” Everyone froze, having never heard Tyon complimenting the child. Amauri seemed so happy he could have died and went on even more about what he knew. Seeing this, Alden turned around and smiled at Tyon. Being this close, the latter froze feeling Alden’s breathing against his skin. His heart sped up even more and feeling it, Alden raised his eyebrows. “Are you okay? -Yes…” Tyon forced himself to look away. He really wanted to kiss him but the more he thought about it the quicker his heart was beating and Alden could hear all of it so he had to calm down quickly. After an hour, Amauri started getting sleepy and his eyes couldn’t stay open anymore. Tyon lifted him and climbed down from the treehouse. “I’ll take him to his room. -Oh, he is sleeping with me.” Tyon frowned. Amauri had been sleeping with Alden for months but Tyon didn’t know yet and Alden had completely forgotten about this. “He likes sleeping with me.” Alden thought Tyon was mad because he wanted Amauri to become independent but in reality he was horribly jealous that Amauri could see Alden every morning the second he woke up. “What?” Alden was ready for the nagging but it never came which was surprising. “Okay. Then let’s take him there. -What? -Let’s take Amauri to your room. -You’re not going to say anything? -What do you want me to say? -Didn’t you want Amauri to sleep alone to become independent?” Tyon smiled: “You knew and you still brought him to your room. -Yes because you were wrong. -Okay, let’s go.” Alden was flabbergasted: “Are you not going to argue with me? -No. -But… Why? -You know Amauri well and you raise him perfectly. I trust you.” Alden was so shocked, he thought he would faint. Seeing him motionless, Tyon frowned: “Are you okay? Are you cold? Do you want me to carry you too?” Alden woke up and shook his head. “No, it’s fine.” Once Amauri was in bed, Tyon stared at him. Tyon really wanted to ask to stay here too. He wanted to sleep here just like last time but he didn’t have the courage to and left ashamed of his cowardly behavior.
