Chapter 17

It took a long time for Alden to calm down and after feeling better, Alden felt very tired and uneasy. He wasn’t used to being the one comforted and had no idea what to say therefore avoiding all eye contact. Tyon finally let him go when Alden tapped his shoulder and he turned to Amauri to comfort him too because the child was still crying. Alden was still uncomfortable and not knowing what to say he dragged them to the next animal. While Amauri was watching the animals, he was turning around every second to make sure his mommy was having fun too. Tyon couldn’t stop staring either and feeling it Alden was really uncomfortable thinking about something to say to make him stop. “If I push you away you have to let me go.” Alden pinched his lips, not being able to look at Tyon for now. “I am sorry. You are always hugging Amauri when he is crying. -That… You still can’t force me to hug you. -I won’t. I am sorry. -You said you would never make any mistakes again. -I said I would never hurt you.” Alden started to be irritated by that knight. “You said mistakes were human.” Alden couldn’t say anything. Tyon did have a point. “And you said we should compliment people when they do something good.” Alden felt his cheeks burn. Again he was right but he felt really uncomfortable. “Thank you for comforting me. You did well.” Tyon laughed because Alden was being adorable but this just made Alden even more uncomfortable and he fled away from Tyon to look at animals with Amauri. Tyon was glad Alden regained colors. He was so uncomfortable that Tyon couldn’t think about anything else but bullying him to help him think of something else. But something was still bugging Tyon and his hand was itching for his sword. These people made Alden cry and the worst was that he had tried to lie and say that everything was fine. He thought they wouldn’t know and that infuriated him. He wanted to run after the strangers and strangle them to death. But he couldn’t. Alden made him promise not to look into his life and he certainly wouldn’t like him taking revenger behind his back. Tyon was disappointed. He had hundreds of plans to get rid of them. He could destroy them both physically and mentally. It was nothing for him and he couldn’t stop thinking about these plans. Tyon was so worked up that Janyn had to walk up to him: “Is everything okay, Sir? -Would Alden be mad if I got rid of someone? -I think so. -Even if he never discovered the truth? -Would you lie to him?” Tyon felt bad about the idea but it was nothing if he could get rid of every menace to Alden. However feeling the danger, Janyn tried his best to talk Tyon down: “Alden is a smart person. He will find out the truth sooner or later.” Tyon didn’t have anything to say. Alden was in fact very smart and he was sure he wouldn’t be able to hide anything from him. During his background check about Alden, Tyon saw his grades in University. He was a genius and if he found out what happened, Tyon could perfectly imagine Alden packing his bags and leaving forever. He couldn’t have that. Back at the mansion, all the servants heard about what had happened. The whole mansion had warmed up to Alden a long time ago and they all felt heartbroken knowing that Alden had cried that day. Everyone wanted to make him smile and they did their best to do so. Everyone smiled at him and brought him small gifts like biscuits and such. Alden felt the happy atmosphere and didn’t think it was especially because of what happened. He had been so shaken that he just felt lucky to live there. Even his new knight friends had heard about the events and thought about what they could do for him. Being a long time since they last hung out together, they planned a picnic with Alden, Amauri, Janyn and Earl like before. Alden was quite grateful for the calm meal and had a great time. Tyon on the other hand asked one of the maids where Alden and Amauri were when they didn’t show up. Lunch wasn’t written in the contract originally but they had been eating lunch together for weeks now and Tyon didn’t like the change. Seeing him all murderous, no one dared say with who Alden was eating. However Tyon soon spotted them outside and his blood started boiling. All the servants ran out of the room scared for their lives while Tyon was staring out the window. It was starting to get really cold outside and Alden was sitting on the ground without his coat on because he gave it to Amauri. Tyon immediately ran out with a spare coat and when the others heard him come, everyone froze. The knights jumped up not knowing what they did wrong but ready to beg for their lives. Tyon immediately put the coat on Alden’s shoulders and turned to the others his eyes shooting arrows: “What are you doing outside in this weather?” Those who had the idea of the picnic were ready to die for this bad idea. Fortunately Alden came to their rescue: “The weather is nice and we are having a good time.” Tyon turned back his eyes immediately warming up but his voice was still cold: “The weather is not good enough to be sitting without a coat on.” Alden took a big breath irritated by this sudden accusation. Amauri on the other hand stood in front of his mommy: “Mommy gave me his coat because he wasn’t cold.” Tyon wasn’t amused: “He just said that so you would be warm. His face is really pale.” Tyon wanted to touch Alden’s hand to show how cold he was but knowing that he shouldn’t touch him without permission he looked up at Alden: “Can I?” Alden immediately understood and shook his head therefore Tyon didn’t do anything. Amauri hearing the exchange lost his colors: “Mommy I am so sorry. I really thought you weren’t cold.” He immediately took the coat off but Alden shook his head: “Keep it. You are smaller than me and could get sick more easily. -I don’t care if I am sick. Mommy is cold. -You are adorable but I am fine. -You are really pale…” On this note no one wanted to continue the picnic and everyone went back inside to warm up. Amauri made Alden sit in front of the fire and ran to get him some warm tea. Alden laughed before sneezing once. Tyon immediately froze and grabbed a blanket before placing it around Alden’s body. He raised his hand to his forehead without touching him waiting for permission. Alden rolled his eyes before placing his forehead against Tyon’s hand. “I don’t have a fever. -You just sneezed. -It was a bit cold but I don’t get sick that easily. It will go away in a few hours. -You should lie down. -No, I don’t want Amauri to worry. -Your health is more important. -Don’t tell him. -Amauri would think the same. -If you tell him I’ll be mad.” Tyon shuddered. He couldn't say anything to that. “Why don’t you like people taking care of you?” Alden frowned: “I already told you I don’t need help. -But you do… -I don’t.” Tyon didn’t have time to continue because Amauri came back with the tea and a lot of small biscuits as well as medicinal herbs. The servants must have wanted to help him carry all of these but he didn’t let them and ran to his mommy. Feeling his mommy’s hand, Amauri opened wide eyes: “You are really cold!” He started scanning his mom’s face and soon came to the same conclusion as Tyon: “Mommy you don’t seem fine. You should lie down.” Alden couldn’t say no to Amauri and had to comply.
