Carter POV
I felt my mind return to my body. I jolted upright, a growl resonating in my chest at the movement. My head was killing me. I opened my eyes, immediately regretting it as the sun's brightness seared into my retina, causing my pounding head to feel like it was splitting open. After a few moments of allowing my eyes to get adjusted, I cracked them open slightly.
"Jas?" I looked around. Where is everyone? "Hello? Petra? Brennan?" Looking around, it quickly became apparent that they weren't here. I tried connecting with Fabian and was met with nothing. No wall, no barrier of any sort. It was like he didn't exist at all. My heart stuttered in my chest. Something strange was going on and it couldn't be good. If I couldn't connect with Fabian, I would be little better than a human.
