Chapter 3: A Good Time

Seth & Gibraltr Club Tropic, Miami Beach - 11:30 PM Halfway through the bottle of bourbon and feeling a little insecure, Seth rolled his glass back and forth between his palms. Was he imagining it, or did the DJ keep staring at him? He was sitting directly in the man's line of sight. Another girl passed in front of his booth, peering in curiously. So far, every woman that passed by had been too nervous to approach him, even when he beckoned them to come closer. The club had assumed he was a football player or something when he had come in. As far as he was concerned, that was as good of an explanation as any. They expected him to keep buying bottles and filling the girls' glasses. He had money, so he had no problem with that. The more time that went by and the drunker he got, the more he wanted women to come and hangout with him. He had even ordered a bottle of vodka. Along with the juice mixers, he may as well have put out a flag of invitation. He felt confident he could stay diligent to his duty and have fun too. He could feel Gibraltr looking at him again. The drunker Seth got, the closer Gibraltr physically got to him. Alcohol always made the lines blur more. He smiled at the girl looking in at him. She stepped forward, smiling back. “Mind if I join you?" she asked in a delicate voice. Finally, he thought. “Not at all," he said. “Please, make yourself a drink if you'd like." He gestured towards the bottle and mixers. She slid in beside him to his left. She was very pretty. Before getting too distracted, he did another scan of the club. Satisfied that nothing had changed, he gave the girl his best smile. “Can I ask you a question?" she said. “Sure." “Are you wearing special contacts?" Confused, he tilted his head in response. “It's just that, your eyes look like reflectors or something," she said. “I've never seen that before." It then dawned on him that sitting in the dark recessed booth would make his eyes reflect light whenever he looked up. He laughed. That explained the DJ too. The poor guy must have been tripping this whole time. “Nah, it's just the wolf in me," he said with a sly grin. His eyes flashed amber and he clicked his teeth together. She gasped, putting a hand to her chest. Oops, may have overdone it there, he thought. But she blushed, and then smiled back at him with seemingly even more interest. “That was cool," she said. “Are you here alone?" He glanced over at Gibraltr for a moment, but then shrugged and said, “Yep." Following Seth's look, she glanced over to where Gibraltr sat. Not seeing anything, she asked, “Well, how would you feel if I invited some of my friends over?" “Are they males or females?" he asked. “Well, one of them is a boy," she replied cutely. She leaned in, “But he's gay, so…" Seth shrugged. “Then, the more the merrier I say!" He finished by slamming his fist down on the table. That startled her and she gave him a wide-eyed look. Embarrassed, Seth said, “Sorry about that. I'll stop doing that, I promise." She slid out of the booth staring at him side-long. He took it as playful. She returned just moments later with a whole gaggle of girls and one guy wearing all silver with spiked silver-tipped hair. They all gazed in at him from the end of the table with curious excitement. Seth beamed at the attention. “Please," he boomed. “Come, make yourselves comfortable. Help yourself to a drink! Where's that waiter? Let's get another bottle!" They all excitedly filled the table. Seth shared another look with Gibraltr. The beast did not seem happy. Lots of drinks later and Seth was getting comfortable with the woman that had dared to introduce herself. Her name was Amanda, and she now sat right next to Seth pressing her body into his left arm. Her overlapped hands rested on his shoulder as she gazed up at his face. She lifted one of her little hands to twirl the hair of his sideburns with her index finger. “I like your hair," she said. “It's not really blonde or brown. It's sort of mustardy in color. I've never seen anything like it before." He looked at her from the corner of his eyes. Her pupils were super dilated. Her friends all seemed to be on something too. The guy in silver had even snorted a line of cocaine right off the table. “You look like a southern general or something with these big chops," she continued adoringly. She moved her hand to the hair on top of his head. “And your hair has this sort of thick curliness to it." She brought her mouth to his ear. “I think it's sexy," she whispered. Seth felt aroused, which blurred the lines with Gibraltr even more. Seth turned his face to the girl's so that their faces were practically touching. He breathed in her breath as they gazed deeply into each other's eyes. And then her hand appeared at his lips holding a pill. “Roll with me," she said softly, her lips brushing his own as she said it. Past the point of no return, Seth opened his mouth accepting the pill.
